My Athletic Life as a Senior Friends were made, teams were created, and working hard was my life. I practiced to reach my full potential and challenged myself to beat my best score. The thrill of the sports I played gave me meaning to work and work. That is why my senior year was full of accomplishments. It all started by joining a first quarter sport, which for me was volleyball. I joined volleyball with the intent of getting a grade for advanced physical education class. I had no plan to join any sport, but the grade was 30 percent off my first semester final grade. Volleyball was the only sport I had a chance of getting into because of my experience,

Our coaches put a canopy tarp over the net and made us play until the ball died. My coached used to always say “If you are lucky enough you will get hit in the face.” To think they said the exact opposite of what I expected, a joke that was priceless. By the time third quarter came, I jumped into tennis. The season was the most fun, relaxing, and non-stressful time I ever had. Every day was something new; for example I found out that three of my teammates did not know how to jump rope. Also I saw how prized I was to my coach; he was proud and talked about my potential to other gym teachers which made me perform to my fullest. The very people I called teammates did not judge me, hate me, or make me feel little in any way other than joking around. I was “the bomb,” they would say. They praised me for being so good, respected me for helping them out. Thanks to them I became a better teammate, athlete, and fellow friend. They made game days feel like practice by sitting in a group and joking, taking a lot of pressure off my shoulders as a singles …show more content…
I sat with my long time friend Liberty, and talked to her while the athletic department chairman describe hoe the athlete of the year award is earned and what the athlete did to achieve such an award. During the speech I was playing with the envelope that had my certificate and not paying attention to what was happening. I zoned in at the last minute to hear the name of the athlete. As the department chairman finished his speech, he paused then read my name out loud.
As I walked up to accept the award, I yelled out “You guys are going to make me cry,” as tears ran down my face. I was handed the 24 inch trophy. Then I hugged the other athletes who got Rooky of the Year, Scholar Athlete of the Year, and Runner up Athlete of the Year. After taking a group picture we dispersed into the crowd, I hugged others who told me I deserved the award and thanked them. It was a moment I cannot forget. Becoming athlete of the year was my ultimate dream that I thought I would never

Just like most other kids, I had a high passion for sports when I was younger. Ever since I was little I was always playing them whether it was soccer, baseball, or golf. But no sport ever got to me more, then what football did. Football was by far my favorite sport and I still play it today. I like to think football changed my life for the better. I is a sport where I can get away from everything else and relieve some stress. Football also taught me discipline which is a great tool for a young kid. I hope to enjoy this sport for the rest of high school.…

Of course there were any other scholarship recipients aside of myself to study in level 3 and 4 of secondary school (I was placed in certain level accordingly based on my age). But for me, the number of the selected ones was somehow surreal; only eight out of hundreds of talented students were chosen. At the point of time, I was overjoyed not because of the fact that I have defeated hundreds of students across the country; or the fact that I received one of the most prestigious scholarships to study overseas with no charge (completely free, accommodation provided and I received quarterly pocket money); but instead, I could finally make my parents proud for having me as their daughter.…

After the speeches students from each class lined up in the auditorium. Many of us waited eagerly for our turn to go the main stage to receive our diplomas from the dean. We were more than two hundred but I was waiting patiently. Of course I was very excited. Soon after that, it was my turn. How can I describe that feeling you have been waiting for so long? As I heard my name, I stood up, walked to the stage and the dean handed my diploma after shaking each other's hands. A second later I heard the applause and the unforgettable moment of feeling proud, that yes, I did it! It was an amazing feeling to stay there in front of everyone, especially in front of your family, your loved ones and see the joy in their eyes. In that seconds and on the way back to my seat I recalled a lot of memories from the last five years. All the positive and negative aspects of being a student came to my mind like the hard exams or the fun time with…

Not all of us had given a chance to be part of that prestigious event. So, win or lost that moment will still marked an important part of the piece of my heart and soul. In every competition it is not just the Crown, the medals, or any awards that matters but it is for us how we accept things without any regrets, because we all know within ourselves that we did our best and accept the fact that in every competition from small to the biggest one there will always be a winner and there is always be a loser, Loser in the eyes of everyone but a winner for themselves.…
