The topic I choose for my personal essay to send to college was not hard to figure out. My first horse was brought to me at 4 months old, where she strode away from human contact. After she gained trust, she grew to become wild and engaged in attention. Visitors would stop by her pasture to watch her prance and buck through the hills of the forest. Her personality reflected my own. Moving to North Carolina helped me create an identity for myself, while traveling to Cuba before starting college helped me gain confidence with

Moving I was quieter than usual as my family piled into the car. We were going to go see our new house. The house I didn’t really know how I felt about yet. My parents had always talked about moving into a bigger house when I was younger, but I never thought it would actually happened. I couldn’t think of any reason why we needed to move. I liked our current house just fine--with all the fruit trees and the small backyard, and the room that me, my older sister, and my brother shared. Plus--moving…

Moving On Justin left me. I went home Tuesday night and all that was waiting for me was an empty apartment and a note. Fucking coward. After three years he couldn’t even talk to me, tell me himself that he wasn’t happy. I shouldn’t be surprised; I knew this was coming, but it still hurts. I kind of figured I would be the one to end it. When I was ready. Would I ever have been ready? Maybe I was the coward. At least he had the strength to end something that wasn’t making either of us happy. No, fuck…

Moving “ Nooo! I don't want to move.” That's what I told my parents when they told me that they wanted to move due to the hot weather in Arizona.I didn't want to leave my friends and family, they were so much to me. “It’s going to be an adventure”stated my mom. I later realized that they were not joking. We were really moving. So, we got a realtor, and put the house up for sale. It took a long time before someone put a offer on it. Then we packed all of stuff into moving boxes…

I felt scared about moving to college, university or away from home for the first time. From a small community in the province to a city with a population of less than 2 million, everything changed. I came to college and had no idea what to expect. When I entered the school I have chosen, it seemed like I was in a new world with people I do not know. I walked around the campus and felt like I was this lost little freshman. FEU was not my 1st choice actually. I just had no choice. But my “tito”…

This is a very tough cookie! I will agree that college opens the door for new life changes that a college student may not be equipped to handle the restraints that come with being a college student and from this can result in BD. I myself going off to college, moving from Florida to California, had a dramatic adjustment which included wild emotions, behaviors, and changes in my personality. I can recall times that I cried just from hearing a family members voice over the phone. It took me more time…

remember them the rest of my life, but the event that I cherish the most is the day I moved from the Lagos, in South East Nigeria, to the United States. It was January, 2009 and a nice day. I had packed up all my belongings and was so excited about moving to America. I thought about all the successes I had had in Africa. Moving and settling down to a new, different place can be difficult and stressful. I learned that if you work hard for anything, you can achieve it. I overcame my difficulties, especially language difficulties. I moved to United States with my family when I was 11 years old. I was born in Kerala, India and I spent my entire 11 years in India. I came to Illinois on August 18, 2009. I still remember the moment when my parents told my older sister and me “The paperwork is ready!! We got the visa to…

“What?!?” I blurted out promptly after my parents delivered the news. They just informed my siblings and I that we were going to be moving. Not just to somewhere nearby, either; to a different city or a neighboring state. We were going to be moving from our house in Virginia, all the way across the country, to Washington state. That is when I realized that my whole life that I had known was going to be gone. Life as I knew it was going to inevitably end. For quite a while, I could not come to terms…

Sometimes, I experience days where I want to move away from everything I am and everything I know. I dream of the day I can start over in a new city, town, or country. I have lived in the same house since I was one years old. Over the course of my life, I have accumulated a large circle of acquaintances from church, work, and school. It never surprises me when I see someone I know in Target. I dwell in a small world, and I want to get out. I want to get out and what else is out there in the world…
