Personal Narrative: Motel 6
My original goal for the first day was to stop for the night in Green River, UT so we'd be close to our destination the next morning. Unfortunately, the Motel 6 was booked solid for the night. I checked Grand Junction and not only did the Motel 6 have rooms available, but it was $20/night cheaper than Green River. Over the years of traveling with my beasts, I've decided that Motel 6 best fits our needs. Not only are they exceptionally dog friendly, but also very reasonably priced (dogs stay free at most which saves a lot) - they may be a bit spartan for some but fit our travel needs very well.

After 24 hours on the road, 2-one hour naps included, the dogs and I were happy to arrive at our home for the night. Yukon quickly claimed one

It was just a boring day in my hometown, a traditional, weak entrance a lot of narrative stories use to try to get the attention of the readers. This story, however, isn’t one of those traditional stories; this one involves a day that had been exciting up to that point already. The memory that resonates daily throughout my mind would have to be the time when I went to Six Flags for the first time in my life. Before I jump into my story, I should tell you my friends mess with each other a lot, almost to the point where we get into fights with each other.…

I was going to apply for 6 flags amusement park at a point, but just didn’t end up working with my schedule. I am glad that you have become more confidence and less anxious. I still get nervous and shy even if I think I am prepared enough. The one thing that helps me not let it get the hold of me is, just being as truthful as I can be and let the marbles fall in its…

Her experience had its ups and downs but she does mention how the van was very hot during the summer and at night she could not sleep well because the van was 80 degrees. Becky also said that the cat was with her but the dog was in a doggy day care. Becky also said that it was hard to find a secluded place to park for overnight stays. Her shower was usually at a rest stop or business that would allow her to do so.…

I went on a trip to Las Vegas for Christmas one year and it was a trip that I would never forget. When we arrived in Las Vegas we stayed in the Luxor Hotel. The Luxor in Las Vegas is a good place to go because of the luxury of the hotel, the exquisite food, and magnificent entertainment. I enjoyed staying in the famous Luxor hotel and Casino. I loved staying in the beautiful four star hotel, it was fun, and I hope to go back someday.…

Lucy gets very tired, very fast, we all do. It is really hard to get sleep at night with animals, Indians, the weather and whatnot. Since she is little, when she is riding in the wagon, she does a lot of sleeping. We had to wait in a long line to ride in a raft for one dollar across the Kansas River to get to the other side for more land. We crossed the river safely with no problems, which is a relief because I thought maybe Lucy would be very scared and cry leading to something bad happening. By now we have a daily routine and have gotten used to it. We usually wake up around 7 a.m. and eat a small breakfast before getting ready to head out on the trail again. We leave for the trail between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and ride along until about 1 p.m. At 1, we have our small lunch. All of our meals are small because we need to save food and money throughout the trip. Usually for lunch, we eat the food that is probably going to spoil soon. We quickly eat lunch and head out by 2 p.m. We continuously walk until around 6 or 7 p.m. and eat dinner and find a good spot for our wagon trains to sit and for our animals to stay during…

I was a camp counselor at Camp Wabikon ‒ a co-ed overnight summer camp located in Temagami, Ontario for children who are 6-15 years of age. Along with teaching Red Cross swimming and lifesaving and Tennis, I was my cabin's 'parent' for six weeks. Therefore, I was present with the children at all times. In essence, I was the leader of my cabin's the physical, social and mental development. The main things I learned were the importance of time management and organization , as I had to plan lessons for swimming and Tennis while taking care of my cabin; conflict resolution between campers; and the ability to plan and foresee events (I had to plan camp-wide events and activities for all campers).…

The quarters still weren’t ready when we arrived so we spent a week in the American Arms Hotel. We had two rooms, and there were plenty of stores and restaurants in the area. And the Army was paying for most of the meals, so the transition was tolerable. The kids liked it, but it was small, and I was grateful it was only a week. We received the call our quarters were available for inspection. We were lucky to receive a four bedroom apartment on the first floor. There was a basement for storage and laundry, so even the first floor was close to being equivalent to the second floor. I was a senior Major, so I was eligible to get on the waiting list for a duplex. They were lovely houses, and we hoped we would get one. We got our DoD driver’s licenses, arranged for quartermaster furniture and standard utilities including a phone. It was terribly expensive to use the phone; even local calls cost significant money, and overseas calls were about $6 a minute, which is the equivalent of over $17 in 2015 dollars. That limited our calls to the parents severely, but, fortunately, both Mom and Blanche visited. The apartments had balconies, and ours was nicely…

Ever since I was born, I was a military brat. Not knowing where to call home, or if any place could be home, I moved. I moved six times, four of those places were towns that nobody could think about. Germany, North Carolina, Alaska, North Carolina, Germany, and Alaska, yet no place to call home. May 22, 1999, my first day on this world; Kronach hospital had its first American baby in their hands, yet they acted like I was a different species. The only event I remember was when I was about one. While I was one, I grabbed everything in my reach, even a grill handle. As a baby, I did not know that the handle was moving, the grill top had smashed my thumb. Ever since that event, I now have a starfish mark on the side of my right thumb from where the stiches were.…

When we were planning for our trip we used priceline.com After searching hotels around the park that could fit 6 people our luck ran out. The only available rooms were the parks signature hotels for $800 a night which was way out of our budget. We searched nearby and found Chase Suite Hotel twenty minutes away in Brea, California. So we booked a two bedroom suite through the hotels website at an incredible price. The rooms were amazing, and private. It was like a large apartment with a full sized kitchen and living room. I highly recommend this…
