When i was in sixth and seventh grade i was a new student and was kind of worried about we use to call “the merging” at benton. What we meant about that was all four elementary school joined to become one big middles school. I really did not have friends in elementary in benton more of acquaintances than friends. When i finally got to middle school the first week or two i made some friends but the one i talked to most was Ale out of our group.

After that i tried to come over at least once a month to hang out. One night we were up really late waiting for a game to download and update so we could play it together. We looked at the clock and i remember it saying like 12:49 am. So we kept doing what we were doing and made something to eat. He was kind of emo at the time with long hair dyed black and the jacket he always wore. However he was not like that outside of school. The appearance was the same, but the attitude was much different. I remember them coming to pick me in a little beat up black car that was a little messy inside but all was good. We drove to the movies and and bought our tickets. We also grabbed some food from the front i still hold a little joke about how i did not get my pretzel. I was 50 cents off and they would not overlook it so i went into the movies just with a coke. As we watched the movies they kept making jokes about how i looked like the black skinny tall skeletons in the movie. As the movie finished up me and alex decided to go hit the arcade while waiting for jaxon to get out of the rest

From the second Alex arrived at the academy he thought something was weird or different, but couldn't place it. He notices that some kids have already started acting like scholars instead of juvenile delinquents. He did however notice one person different than all the other boys, James Sprintz. James seemed to be the only boy not "brain-washed" that Alex met. Alex and James became close friends at their time at Point Blanc, skipping classes and doing stuff that was expetc…

Yough Intermediate Middle School, a comical and controlled environment. Waking up everyday to come to school is a nuisance. It worth every second of the day because of the amazing teachers, students, and staff. The curricular activities are as creative as a Picasso painting. Middle school in Chicago was completely different from back home. One day as I was getting more familiar with the school, I stopped for a minute to take a look at my surroundings, I saw girls dressed in long girly dresses, others having breakfast in the cafeteria while preserving their legs closed and some absorbed in the illusion that they must look good all the time to be the girl they were taught to be.…

She speaks with a slight accent and is quite overdramatic. I’ve known for 6 years now. I’ve always had lofty, perhaps unrealistic. In middle school, I naively assumed that I would be in top 12% of my class, by simply making A’s. I tried my hardest in every classes, but still wasn’t enough. I never reached my goal of being in top 12%, as a result my self-esteem plummeted. I started high school with high hopes once again. Perhaps even more naively, I pursued the goal of being ranked number one. I was too young to realize the concept of “realistic” goals. My biggest obstacle was my state of mind. I brought my self-down. I told myself the only way to be the best is to be better than everyone else. Setting such a high goal did help me in the end. After the second semester of freshman year, I received my rank. I was ranked number 10;…

Looking back to middle school I remember the fear I had for someday having to go to high school. My teachers always told me how different and harder it would be when I went. My older sister was in 9th grade at the time and I wanted ti be with her when I went. But the high school she was at was different from the one all my friends were going. I always had a hard time making decisions and now I had to choose between going to a school with my friends or going to a school that would help me prepare for the future. So I decided I would just apply to my sisters school to see if I got accepted, going into the interview I wasn't really scared because it didn't matter to me, I just thought whatever happens, happens. Surprisingly I got accepted and…

I met this kid named Josh in my Calculus class the first week of school. Josh is tall, has jet black shaggy hair, very pale skin, and really big ears that stick out through his hair. But what mostly distinguish Josh from others are his very blue eyes. Josh never speaks in class, even when the teacher asks him for and answers. One day in class, I needed something to write with and he was willing to give me a pencil. He seemed to be a cool kid but he never said a word during class and I barely saw him outside of class. One day at the cafe, I noticed Josh was sitting at a table in the corner by himself. I went over and asked if he wanted to sit with me…

Today was the day. Packed to the point of bursting open with new notebooks, folders, pens, pencils, and textbooks, he readied me for school. Instead of bouncing around as rambunctious young boys do, he trudged slowly in a peculiar meter of half-steps toward the doorway. He was living a new life in a new school that was filled with people who might as well have been aliens to him.…
