Personal Narrative: Melia
For five years now I have had to put up with the sassiest, neediest, most emotionally abusive cat ever. Her name is Melia (mah-ee-ah) and I believe she has an attitude problem. Ever since we first got her she wouldn’t let us pick her up, rub her belly, or cuddle her. All she ever wanted was treats, and to sit in the most inconvenient places. We thought she would change and grow out of it, but we’ve been thinking that for half a decade now and there has been little to no improvement. Now even though she is the “family” cat, she is definitely mine. She sleeps with me and cuddles with me and doesn’t try to hurt me more than she does anybody else in the family (it really is a special bond). She likes to lay on my homework, eat my cheese, and lick

The grandmother does not wish to leave the cat. “She didn’t intend for the cat to be left alone in the house for three days because he would miss her.” (O’Connor). The irony here is that cats are not the type of animals who miss people or even care about their owners. During the whole ordeal of the family the cat is not seen; however, at the closing of the story, the cat is seen cuddling up nest to The Misfit. In fact, the cat actually shows affection to The Misfit as if the cat is grateful that the grandmother has been shot. This is ironic because the grandmother took the cat because she did not want it to be lonely, however; the cat is never portrayed as lonely. He is portrayed as a normal cat loving the new owner.…

I just wanted to touch base because my dad and I have been talking and have come to the conclusion that we both feel that I've never really been able to voice my reasoning for doing what I did and, if I was give the opportunity it was given to me in a very stressful time. As I'm sure you know I was made the section leader of my band's alto saxophone section and a part of that responsibility was leading small group rehearsals, getting people to work, and things like that. Brandon was a member of my section and didn't make that job easy. He always seemed to find a way to make it difficult to lead a rehearsal whether it be goofing around, talking to other people, or not playing the piece of music that we were trying to practice it always…

As I was writing my personal narrative for my composition 1 class, it easily made my mind boggle. After I had got started on my personal narrative, it was easy for me to keep writing and keep following along the story line. The main strength of mine that the essay played to was my creativity and my flexibility for different writings, because I have never written an essay as serious and sad as this one, but I did have to add my happy ending when I finished the story. I wanted it to be very attention grabbing with a twist, but I also wanted it to be very emotional.…

Yet another Thanksgiving, and I was stuck in my uncle’s basement watching the Redskins face off the Dallas Cowboys. Michael Jordan, Serena Williams, and various other famous athletes all grinned at me from their respective Wheaties boxes, seemingly mocking my pain. My uncle collected them and, for some reason, had decided the bright orange boxes would be a great decorative addition to the basement wall behind the television. I remember once, when I was younger, I was searching for a movie to watch and I accidentally brushed against a limited edition Michael Jordan box. The box began to teeter, and I immediately knew that I was doomed. All the boxes began to fall like dominos to the floor. My uncle, needless to say, was furious. Thus, it was seemingly fitting that the offended boxes, now realigned on the wall, would have the privilege to witness my torture by football.…

Starting from a place I remembered as a teen, moving from a place that was warm to a place that had all four seasons; such as winter, spring, summer and fall. The First place that I grew up was surrounded by mountains. During the winter it was full of white snow, something that I was never used to seeing coming from California where all one would see was sandy beaches and the waves clasping one another. As I remember being so new to Park City, UT all I could see was the wonderful views of trees, mountains and people skiing or snowboarding. I have to say this was a fond memory because for the firs time I was actually able to experience the feeling of what winter was…
