Life at Catherine Hall:
I started my middle school years confused of what I wanted to be.Lucky through exploratories and other career based classes. When I was in Catherine Hall I was in student home Greenfields with the Johnsons. Activities I did that helped me get ready for highschool was football and soccer and it taught me to have strong characteristics and I knew that those features were needed growing up in most jobs. I had relationships with music teachers that helped me get on the road to my high school career pathways.

Life at High School:

The major I studied was audio engineering/Producing. Full Sail had many activities to be a part of and the groups that I partook in were the Audio Engineering Society and the Music & Entertainment Industry Association. My summertime part-time job that I did included me being a DJ at parties all over Florida like Orlando, and beaches in Miami and Daytona.

My Career:
Currently, I am working at A2f Studios in Miami, Florida. I am an experienced audio engineer or a music procedure and my tasks include creating beats for my clients that come in to make music with. I’ve had this job for three years and I make $77,000 annually. I have many strengths that helped me succeed phenomenally in this career and some of them are my aptitude for editing, excellent communication skills, and an interest in working with technical equipment or computers. This job didn't need many requirements but one specific requirement that got me this job was audio engineering at full sail for at least two years at full sail

I am an 18 year old finishing up her freshman year of college. As well as playing on a collegiate soccer team. I am living on campus experiencing living on my own away from family and getting the ”opportunity” in making life decisions with little help from my parents. As a typical collegiate athlete student, I am overwhelmed with homework, sports, and trying to fit in a “life” here. As well as running on little sleep because of school catching up with me. Grace University has caused many stressful moments throughout this year, but that comes with any typical college. Classes, practices, games, SLT’s, and chapels so far have been the only part of my life and my structure at Grace. I am not generally from here, but because my dad’s side of the…

I began working at Keeter my first semester at College of the Ozarks. On my first day of work, the supervisor handed me a gleaming gold name tag that not only had my name but the state I came from. I watched as others put their nametags on, and I quickly discovered that most of them read Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. I looked down at my nametag and felt a sense of uniqueness, knowing no one in the room had the state of Virginia. I soon began to realize that my nametag sparked curiosity when the guests saw how far I had traveled. Guest after guest would ask the same question, “How did you end up here?” I answered this question dozens of times within a day. There were days that I would begrudgingly tell the Keeter guests my journey to this College, but never once did I fail to cherish the opportunity I was given.…

My freshman year at Spelman wasn’t one for the books, it wasn’t the definition of #goals, it wasn’t full of memories, in fact it was probably one of the hardest years of my life. For as long as I can remember, I was always a well-known member of my school’s student body. I was the girl teachers requested, I made everything I ever tried out for, and in every leadership position in almost every club. I can confidently say high school was great and I thought college would be even better.…

My time at the community college was used to focus on building a strong academic foundation, specifically tutoring international students English every week as they tried to maneuver through their lives in the United States. I remember during one particular session, a Chinese exchange student told me that when she first arrived in Seattle, she was in a state of euphoria. However, her inability to communicate fluently with her peers hindered her from adapting to the customs in America. Consequently, it impeded her from making her own place in society. Another individual, who emigrated from Eritrea, confessed she was still unfamiliar with having additional resources at her fingertips. She grew up in an area where advanced technological tools,…

The event that I choose to follow summer fest was a simple and casual visit to the wellness and recreational center, fancy way of saying the gym. Upon my first ever visit to Florida International University I still remember at our freshmen orientation entering the gym and thinking to myself this seems like a place that I will be visiting often during my four year tenure at school. And boy was I right, the facility was clean and professional looking very much like a professional gym would appear, the staff where all kind and ready to assist you if help was ever necessary, something that I truly valued. I was extremely exited to take a spinning class at the FIU gym, I had only ever heard positive reviews and I was looking forward to the experience as well. Personally I am obsessed with fitness so any class, or activity is something that I love to experience which is what drove me to experience the class myself, and did, I love it. When I got out of that class I was sweating so much, I felt like I had gone on a run around the world and it so amazing, the instructor knew exactly what she was doing and had no problem helping you out if you needed it, the music was fun and exiting extremely up tempo. Overall I can only rave about the experience, it was positive and motivational. It has truly inspired me to no matter how stressed I may be I can always go down to the gym and relieve my stress while gaining a benefit as well.…

When first accepted to college, I was a theatre major with emphasis in performance and research. After one year of that major I realized that I did not have the personality type to be on a constant look out for small jobs. I also did not want to be moving constantly. I had a vague idea of applying to law school if theatre didn’t go anywhere for me. After much thought, I realized that law school was what I really wanted to do with my life. From an early age I was greatly interested in mystery novels and law shows. I was especially attracted by the type of novels that allowed the reader to attempt to solve the mystery before turning to the last page to read the answer. My favorite television show has been “Law and Order” since the age of eleven, however inaccurate it may be. I believe that it was partly the attraction to books and shows like these that planted the idea of being a lawyer in the back of my mind. When I began high school I became a student school librarian. I kept that post until I graduated (with library service cords). While I was a librarian I became very familiar with the ins and outs of the Dewey Decimal System, and I helped both teachers and students with research. I came to realize that I liked researching. In the high school theatre department and later the college theatre department, I became a dramaturg: the person responsible for doing any and all research needed to perform a play. After I came to college as a theatre major I realized that I missed being a librarian. I also realized that I did not like the uncertainty of theatre. The ghost idea of being a lawyer if theatre didn’t work out became more solid. After thinking about how much I like research and figuring things out, it became what I wanted, not a back up plan.…

I have always wanted to make a career out of my music. For years, i was determined to go to college to major in Music Performance, so that I could become a mainstream trumpet player like Wynton Marsalis. I was sure of this up until my senior year in high school, when I realized that I don't need to take 4 years of college to learn something that I can learn on my own or with private instruction, and that is to perform. The moment that occurred to me, I was at a loss for what I would major in. Then I realized that, ever since I got hung up on performing, I had forgotten about my first desire, and that was to educate. So, I have decided on majoring in Music Education at a school that is well known for producing quality musicians and teachers. I mainly chose this field of study because the two things that bring joy to me are performing my music for others, and sharing my music with others. With the ability to perform, and with the ability to educate, I can achieve both. Also, in the Music Education curriculum, they help you to improve on your instrument, as well as on others. So, i am sure this will not only help me as a future educator, but also as a performer and entertainer.…
