Personal Narrative: Leah's Neighborhood
It was a cold windy rainy Halloween Night. You could hear the waves were crashing into the beautiful lake michigan shores, and the cheers from the Prairie soccer game. Children running around hoping to get delicious treats and sweets. I was with Leah, Lee, Vinny, and Ethan and we were hoping to have a memorable night. Though we would not remember the night from the candy we received, the dinner we ate, the candy trade, or meeting up with Jared, Matt and Frank. No, we would remember this night from the time we were almost kidnapped. This is what happened….
4:05 P.M. Wind Point Wisconsin Us five as in Leah, Lee, Vinny, Ethan and myself were just leaving to go trick or treating. We had our costumes ready, the pictures taken, and dinner in the oven waiting for us to

Wind Point Wisconsin We all decide to start making our way over to Leah's house while stopping at a few people house as we walk. Now I as well as everyone else has stepped in a puddle and our shoes our socked. We are trying to find the best way possible to flash the flashlight so the cars could see us.
8:01 P.M. Leah's Neighborhood
We just arrived in Leah's neighborhood. Trick or Treating is officially over though we thought we would still stop at a few people's houses along the way. As we approach the first house a little black car drives very slowly by us. We continue to walk starting to get frightened. The car then came to a complete stop. We all made a dash towards Mr. Hesse's house and continued to knock on the door until he came. We are all breathing hard out of breath and are praying to get an explanation of what had just happened.
8:06 P.M. Mr. Heisses House Mr. Hayes has just answered the door. Leah starts the conversation by asking what kind of car that neighbor had. They did not have a small black car. No instead they had a big red car. We don't know where the car has gone though we feel a little bit better that we have an adult by us.

Domaszewicz telephoned Ms. Williams at her sister’s home. Ms. Williams said that Mr. Domaszewicz was angry because of the conversation with Mr. Farr. Apparently, the Farr telephone conversation had involved an allegation that Mr. Domaszewicz had told someone in Morwell that he was going to kill Mr. Farr by Christmas. However, Ms. Williams also suggested that the allegation may have been the other way around. Evidently, Ms. Williams had previously considered that Messrs. Domaszewicz and Farr had been on friendly terms. During this conversation Mr. Domaszewicz said he was working on his car and advised Jaidyn had fallen over and he (Domaszewicz) had cleaned him up. He also did not say anything about the fact that Jaidyn had been bleeding. As it was raining Ms. Williams inquired of Mr. Domaszewicz as to whether he needed more clothes for Jaidyn. His response was to the effect that it did not matter because he was going to have a shower (or give Jaidyn a shower) and then bring him back to Katie Leskie’s. During this conversation Ms. Williams said she heard her son’s voice on the phone. Evidently he said the word “dog” (at this time Jaidyn was able to say the words “Mum”, “Dad” and…

Gather ‘round, gather ‘round children, while I tell you the story of Isabelle Black, the evilest person around. Don’t be scared children, you’re all safe now, but you wouldn’t have been exactly twenty years ago today. On a dark and stormy night, an adorable child named Elle Doucette was walking the streets of New York alone. That poor innocent child didn’t realize that she was about to make a decision that would change her life. As I was saying, as Elle Doucette was walking that night it started to rain, so she ran into the nearest building that she saw. What she didn’t know was that that building was the haunted building where the beautiful young maiden, Isabelle Black was killed ten years ago on that night. Elle was glad that she found a…

"We admire people to the extent that we cannot explain what they do, and the word admire then means marvel at." This quote by B. F. Skinner shows exactly how I idolize certain people. I admire those who can make me realize who I am, who understand where I stand on and who is not afraid to say what is on their minds. One incredible individual, who I have met recently, changed the way I looked at the world. Ms. Lena Parks has a different air around her that I do not find most in others. I applaud her for the discipline she imposed on herself to reach her goal, for her sense of humor, and for her individuality.…

I always keep this poem and picture in my wallet. I take it everywhere with me because it means quite a lot to me in two very different ways. One of those ways is because it holds sentimental value. When I was younger I learned to read very late in life and I was always so embarrassed of that. My father knew that I was struggling and bought me the book, Where the Sidewalk Ends. It is a book full of poems and little pictures written by Shel Silverstein. I remember opening the book to ta random page, and it was the page with this poem. I then remember my dad asking me to read it to him. I was so uncomfortable, even thought I was just going to be reading to my dad. He gave me some words of encouragement, and even thought I was not able to read…

At one-thirty in the afternoon, Carolee Mitchell was running the vacuum cleaner, or she would have heard the first sirens and looked out. After the first, there weren’t any others. The calling voices, even the number of dogs barking, could have been students on their way back to school, high-spirited in the bright, cold earliness of the year. Thinking back on the sounds, Carolee remembered a number of car doors being slammed, that swallow of air and report which made her smooth her hair automatically even if she wasn’t expecting anyone. But what caught her eye finally was what…

On that sketchy Halloween night, it all started with the school play my classmates and I put on. We all put on a pretty solid performance in the show. Well enough that we decided to celebrate afterwards that night. Around 15 of my classmates and closest friends all piled in our cars and took off. As we pulled into this small unspacious blacktopped driveway in downtown Oliver Springs, the first thing we noticed was how limited parking was. We somehow managed to pile about a dozen cars in this miniscule driveway and were even forced to park a few on the lawn.…

The street was dark and quiet. Zoe looked at the houses and realised that she couldn’t see any lights on in any of them. She continued to let her legs and stomach guide her directions. She had walked to the local pizza shop many times before. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw one light of an apartment shining through the navy blue curtains of the window. “Click clack, click clack,” Zoe thought she heard footsteps. Whoosh! Zoe turned around and no one was there. “Zoe, you’re being paranoid. Why would anyone be following you?” she thought to herself as she turned the volume on her iPod up. She had an eerie feeling about those footsteps from before. Something wasn’t right. She smelt a strong French perfume that intoxicated the air.…

    Trick or treat

Every year when Halloween came around my friend’s and I would try and shop for the most unique Halloween costume we could find, and prepare ourselves for the adventurous night ahead. Our parents put together a trailer filled with hay and drove around our neighborhood stopping at every house with a porch light on so we could ring their doorbell, ask for candy, and say “Trick or treat”. They would hand us our candy, we returned with a “thank you”, and made our way to the next house. We rode around for hours talking about how full our candy bags were getting, and who would end up with the most by the end of the night. We would gossip about who had the same costume as us, and whose house was the scariest. We would have the best trick or treating experience and each year seemed to get better. Those cold nights, and hayrides seemed so exciting back then. The only night when our parents let us stay out past our 10 o’clock curfew was the best feeling ever. The thrill we had walking to every door because we would look over at the very still skeleton, or “stuffed” figure and not know if there was a person hiding behind the mask waiting to scare us or not.…

Frank climbed out of the car. A fierce wind lashed against his cheeks. The youngest child began to cry - muttering from the back seat, and again silence. He glanced again at the bodies. A car’s headlights flashed into his eyes, at the same time as another sharp gasp of wind slashed his cheeks. The slap of the cold and the flash of lights shook his mind awake. In front of him two young girls were lying either dead or unconscious because of him. Of course he was concerned for their welfare, but the reality was that they shouldn’t have been crossing a dual highway at any time, let alone in the dark with no reflective clothing. He really did need to get the kids home for supper, they would be cold and hungry and their mother would be worried.…

“It was my best friend Amy’s 16th birthday and we had just finished celebrating. Janet, my other friend, needed a ride home. Since I’m not allowed to have anybody else in my navy blue Honda Accord, Amy offered to give Janet a ride in her raspberry red Ford Explorer. Since Janet’s house is a block away from my house, I told Amy to follow me so Janet didn’t have to worry about giving directions. Seeing as she wasn’t too good at doing so anyways. We came upon a stoplight just as it turned yellow. I zipped right on through. It didn’t occur to me that Amy and Janet would have to wait for the light to turn green. As soon as I realized that that was the case, I pulled over to the side of the road to wait. With an open space of dried out weeds to my right and a field of wet, green, grass to my left, I kept my eye on the rearview mirror so I knew when to pull back out in front of them. I don’t know what, but something to my…
