Personal Narrative: Lamar State College Orange
Lamar State College Orange is a place that I can find myself devoting time to a higher education. Whether your spending your time at the library studying, working out at the gym, or grabbing a quick bite to eat at the cafeteria there’s so many possibilities to where and why a person spend most of their time on campus! Where do I find myself spending the most time on campus when I am not in class? If someone were to ask me this question I’d be able to tell him or her right off the bat, “What better place to go to then the upstairs study corner in the library?” After all, a quiet area free from distractions is my go to place when I need to focus. As I walk up the stairs and head toward the study corner in the left hand area of the library I …show more content…
As I finish yet another assignment I take a deep breath in, and then exhale out in satisfaction, the only smell I can identify is the smell of success. I take a quick break to re-organize and re-focus. My stomach begins to growl but I know I can’t leave until I finish all of my homework. The only solution is to eat a piece of my favorite Orbit gum. “The fruity and sweet taste of this piece of gum will hold me over until I’m done!” is the thought that pop’s into my head as I begin to chew the piece of gum. The sound that I hear in the study corner puts me at peace and helps me regain my focus to begin completing my tasks again; this sound is the sound of silence. In this area I am free from distractions, the only other sound that is heard is the sound of my fingers punching away at the keys on my keyboard. This my friend is the best sound in the world if your hoping to accomplish your school work! As may people can now see, this is undeniably one of the best places to go in LSCO if you’re looking to study hard or simply work on school assignments. It’s a comfortable environment, filled with silence to ensure your success, and the sight of seeing other people in this peaceful environment should encourage everyone to study even harder! I mean after all, a quiet area free from distractions is my go to place when I need to focus. Where is better place at Lamar State College Orange to go and study then the libraries upstairs study

Asheville School is terrific, and my favorite parts are the campus, boarding, and the athletics. Asheville School has an very old beautiful campus. This school has a large campus with brick buildings. The campus has been around since 1900. This school is a boarding school. This means for an extra cost, you can rent and live on campus in small dorms. Because of this, if I have friends that live on campus I am allowed to sleep in their dorms if I need to. Asheville School also has a awesome athletics program. They have football, soccer, baseball, basketball and many other sports. There is also mountaineering which is a bunch of different activities such as rock climbing, white water kayaking and mountain biking. I really like Asheville School…

My rite of passage was coming to Randolph-Macon. As I arrived at Randolph-Macon College on September 1st to begin my freshman year of college, I could not do anything but shake from being so nervous. My parents kept telling me that everything would come together and I would fit right in. I had never felt so out of place. Coming from a small private school, with a graduating class of 30, I could not bear to meet a freshman class that was as bigger than my hometown or my k-12 school. It was like I was a nightmare and no matter how many times I pinched myself, I could not wake up. I was trapped here without any friends or a vehicle to escape.…

I began working at Keeter my first semester at College of the Ozarks. On my first day of work, the supervisor handed me a gleaming gold name tag that not only had my name but the state I came from. I watched as others put their nametags on, and I quickly discovered that most of them read Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. I looked down at my nametag and felt a sense of uniqueness, knowing no one in the room had the state of Virginia. I soon began to realize that my nametag sparked curiosity when the guests saw how far I had traveled. Guest after guest would ask the same question, “How did you end up here?” I answered this question dozens of times within a day. There were days that I would begrudgingly tell the Keeter guests my journey to this College, but never once did I fail to cherish the opportunity I was given.…

My time at the community college was used to focus on building a strong academic foundation, specifically tutoring international students English every week as they tried to maneuver through their lives in the United States. I remember during one particular session, a Chinese exchange student told me that when she first arrived in Seattle, she was in a state of euphoria. However, her inability to communicate fluently with her peers hindered her from adapting to the customs in America. Consequently, it impeded her from making her own place in society. Another individual, who emigrated from Eritrea, confessed she was still unfamiliar with having additional resources at her fingertips. She grew up in an area where advanced technological tools,…

Something so simple like sitting outside can open up a whole new world to peace and relaxation. At Macomb Community College, there is plenty of space to just sit down and think, do homework, study, or talk with friends. There is one area in particular which is a courtyard space in the middle of campus that allows students to sit down and rest. Even though it is quiet for the most part, it can also be very busy. The courtyard is one of many places on campus to sit and talk with friends, think and brainstorm alone, or do homework and study.…

The two most important things that I have learned about orientation are all of the available resources and all of the helpful staff that Ashford offers to students. I think the library will be a great help to me in my future with Ashford because it offers so much for students and has online Librarians to assist you as well. I have also had a lot of assistance from the staff at Ashford. My counselor calls me at least three times per week to check in with me to see if I am getting things done or if I need help with anything. This is very important to me because I do have a lot of questions for her and she normally has the answer or she will find the answer to whatever I need. I think with the help from staff and the resources available I will be able to get my assignments done and that will help me be successful in my studies at Ashford University. I know with hard work and studying I will earn my Degree with…
