Personal Narrative: Knott's Scary Farm
The day I went to Knott's Scary Farm

One day my dad woke me on by saying “We're going to Knotts Scary Farm” then I jumped up and got in the shower and when I was done showing I got dressed then went to tell everyone the news, but they had already new about the news which was great because I didn't even want to waste a second. Once we got there, I saw a roller coaster that my dad convinced me to go on with my brother because he’ll buy us anything we wanted as I listen to him. Then I asked “Can mom come with us on the roller coaster?” “ Sure, besides I have to go buy something” My dad said. “Like what?’’ I asked, but before I could finish my sentence he had already left. When the ride was over, my dad was waiting for us. We walked

I was so nervous because I thought that I wasn’t going to win. The next thing you know I’m winning a BIG fluffy bear that was turquoise. After we each won a game we went on another roller coaster. The line was so long that it took us 40 minutes just to get on 1 ride. I was so tired of waiting in line that I told my brother that I wanted to leave. “Karina we’re next!” My brother yelled. My palms were sweaty and my stomach was filled with butterflies. As we got on I was sweating like I never did before. The roller coaster began off slowly and the next thing you know, we’re screaming for our lives. “Aaahhhhh!!!!” My brother and I yelled. The ride was just about to end in 5 minutes, until the ride stopped. “What happened?” I asked. “It’s probably just part of the ride. “There's absolutely nothing to be afraid of.” My brother said. “This is a ride, why would it stop in the middle of it?” I said back. “Karina, it’s probably part of the ride. Don’t worry Karina.” My brother said. “Riders, you are about to enter the cave of TERROR. Do not be afraid because all the stuff that pops out and everything is completely fake.” The announcer said. “I told you that there was nothing to be afraid of.” My

I remember the night my dad left like it was yesterday, and I don’t think I will ever forget. I don’t remember what exactly it was that made him so mad but I’m sure my sister and I were fighting like sisters do. My only really vivid memory of that night was my dad hitting me so hard he left bruise marks on my backside. I could hear my mom and dad fighting so I knew my mom saved me again. Then my dad got really mad at her and he grabbed her by the shoulders and shoved her into the pantry door so hard that both my mom and the pantry door came crashing to the floor. When I got up for school the next morning my dad was gone. Some children aren’t as lucky though and Child Protective Services has to remove them from a bad situation.…

I wanted to go to him and ask him what was wrong, but I didn’t dare…But then I couldn’t stand it anymore and I got up and ran down the hall to the kitchen. There, in the middle of the room, wearing his Goodyear jacket and work clothes was my father. He was on his hands and knees, his head hanging as though it were too heavy to support, and he was rocking back and forth and babbling in a rhythmical stutter. It’s funny, but the first thing I thought when I saw him like that was the way he used to let me ride on his back, when I was little, bucking and neighing like a horse. And as soon as I thought it, I felt my heart lurch in my…

My mom never screamed at me before and when she screamed he blamed me for letting him go outside without his permission. One sunny day, we were remodeling the living room so it can be more babyproof now that my brother was taller and could walk and run perfectly. We left the door open because it was too cold in the living room. We were moving the couch as we told Andres to move over so we don’t locate the couch on his feet. We were so busy moving the furniture that we totally forgot the baby of the family was walking towards the door. When we put the couch in our desired spot, we noticed Andres walking toward the street. We ran after him as quickly as we could as we saw a car moving in Andres’s direction. My dad sprinted like a track and field athlete towards his baby and caught him right in time. All of a sudden, my mom turned to me and blamed me for this incident. I felt like my side of the story wasn’t considered when I explained she told me to help her with the couch and it was really Andres’s fault. She couldn’t believe I was blaming a baby so she sent me to my room. I ran to my room crying, feeling as if Andres was the favorite child and I wished that I never had a…

I take the keys and get into the driver's seat, I turn the car on and put it into reverse, and almost hit a tree backing out. “Slow down” my dad says. I back out slower and shift into drive and pull out really slow. We turn left and I hug the right side, my dad says, “don't go into the ditch.” I'm getting used to driving by now and then I see it, it’s big, red, and slow, a tractor, right by a right turn. My dad says, “just keep driving…

This wasn’t Jesse’s first rodeo, but it was for the rest of us. He signed us up for a skiing lesson while we were there. Lessons were every hour. All of us had to wait thirty minutes for the next lesson to start. In the meantime, there was a small ski slope that they had for beginners to go down. To waste time, we decided to see how much we could do with ourselves without a lesson. Not even three minutes after my mom and I had put our skis on, my mom began sliding down the slope. She didn’t know how to do anything so she fell. The look on her face looked like she was ready to murder someone. As soon as she fell, it instantly puts her in a bad mood. I, being the funny person I am, though I had no idea what I was doing and yelled to my mom, “ Don’t worry, Mom. I’ll help you!” Well, as I walked over to help her up, I started sliding and I had no idea what to do and I ended up falling down right next to her. I turned my mom’s frown upside down. She started laughing at me. I was kind of aggravated that I fell, but me falling made my mom in a better mood, so I wasn’t really…

My mom and I were running late. Not like it was anything new. We were supposed to be in Moulton no later than 5:30, and now it was closer to 6:00. We finally pulled into the apartment complex, where we were supposed to meet this guy, at a little after 6:00. After searching for this guy for a few minutes[->0] and a few phone calls, we assumed that we had missed him. "See Mom, you should have gotten off of work early," I said just as I saw the guy pull into the parking lot. "Hey are you ready to move into your apartment?" asked the guy. After a few minutes of struggling to get the furniture into the apartment, I figured it was the end of the adventure. A few weeks[->1] later, after getting home from work, my mom was telling me that I would never guess who had called her earlier in the day. Not being in a great mood, I just shrugged my shoulders as to suggest that I didn't really care. Then she asked me if I remembered the guy who we had met just a few days before. She told me that he had called to ask her if she wanted to go out one night that coming weekend.…

I was sitting at the Warren high school football game Friday evening, when I started listening to my mom and sisters conversation. My sister Tonya just showed up at the game and my mom said to her “Hey how have you been?” Tonya said, “I have been great, but really busy helping Richard build a cage for our new pets.” My mom was unaware that she got new pets so she said, “Oh, what new pets?” My sister said, “We just got two baby squirrels!” At this point my mother was completely shocked, and didn’t know what to say. It was silent for a brief second, and then my mom said, “What do you feed them.” My sister said, “They eat nuts, fruit, veggies, seeds, and corn.” My mom said, “Wow, that’s funny! Did you find them at the farm?” This is when my uncle Jim popped his head in the conversation and said, “A squirrel is just a rat with good public relations.” After a little bit of laughter my sister answered, “Yes, we found them at the farm. Richard and his uncle cut down a tree and they were living in it. He felt bad, so he caught them, and brought them home for me. Oreo still hasn’t seen them!” Oreo is their pet black pug. My mom said “Oh, just wait till he finds them, he will go crazy! I thought Richard was going to make him a hunting dog.” My sister said, “Wow, what a hunting dog! He isn’t very smart, you know?” My mom argued, “He is very smart!” Then she said, “When you get the chance you should send me a picture of the new pets.” My sister said, “OK, I will.” Then she asked, “Can you think of any good names?” My mom said, “Yeah, you could name them Biscuit and gravy, Chip and Dale, or Rocky and Bullwinkle.” My sister said, “Yes! Those are very creative names.” My uncle popped his head in again and said, “Enough squirrel talk! Watch the game!” My mom and sister, at the same time said, “OK!” After that everyone got quiet for a second, and then the talking started again. At this point I was tired of listening, so I started watching the…
