“Mom”, I strongly disagree with your narrative that I must hold a degree in Fine Arts in order to succeed as an artist. Numerous occupations don’t require a degree, just true artist talent, such as a book illustrator, 3D animation, and graphic design. Therefore I’ve accepted an offer put forth by Tommy Apple, an iconic tattoo artist and owner of the multinational corporation, Ink It Baby.” The look on my mother’s face reminded me of a pit bull ready to pounce. In fact, she growled when I told her Tommy would be my mentor during a three year apprenticeship pro-gram.
