Personal Narrative: Improving My Life
Well what is there for me to talk about? I suppose i should start from the beginning. i was born in mankato to a loving family of a mom and a dad and a older brother who was born 4 years prior to myself and we lived in two different houses there a house on the south side that i was to young to remember and the house i do remember was on the north side. i spent my childhood there adventuring in the ravines behind our development with some neighborhood friends, building forts using materials we took from our parents and the many construction sites that you would expect in a fastly developing neighborhood. there was many days spent at my great grandpa's farm and my great uncle's farm exploring the fields and the forests that were still left. …show more content…
i got back to school and using online schooling i was able to make the months of classes missed and walk with all my friends on graduation day. although i still didn't know what i wanted to do. that's when i started using psychedelics to invoke an answer to my questions from my innerself and to release the creative side of me that was all too well burnt out i had stopped dreaming literally and mentally. after all my answers at the time were answered i stopped. i was shown goals and steps i should take to better my life, and unleashed some creative potential that long have i lost that is why i'm going to school again, to better my life in the goal of finding my happiness doing something i love to do. This time going to school will be much better because i come sober of substances and only with the intent to study my hardest and learn. somewhat like yourself i was never let into any honors or advanced programs but always had a good ability to read, until i came here to learn and to increase my knowledge in anyway i can and the only requirement to be in honors classes is a simple reading score on a test. reading being one of the only skills i've ever been any good at i was overjoyed that i didn't need to be good at math or any other subject. i took your class to fulfill my desire to learn and to love learning while doing so i am looking forward to reading and discussing the great books that you have

“WHOA WHOA WHOA THIS IS BALONEY MAN!” that is something I say whenever I am frustrated. People have always told me sometimes the best way to learn something is through failure. People value things they have accomplished differently. Often the people whom are naturally adept at things do not realize how much of a struggle it can be for others. Many times when people have told me that if you are going to fall, fall forward. Do not let your insecurities, doubts, and pride get in the way of improving yourself. In brief, there can always be a way to improve yourself.…

A major theme in my life is improvement. I challenge myself to take risks and set high expectations for myself. For instance, I strive to run faster and for longer distances every couple of times I approach the treadmill belt. I am obstinate about my minimum distance, 2.2 miles, and my minimum speed, 6.8. A major component of improving myself is learning. Every new word is a miniscule enhancement of my massive English vocabulary pool, but it is still a step in the right direction. I enjoy becoming more knowledgeable in both domestic and international affairs. I wish I could have more time to pour into reading current event and health articles. I am particularly attached to drumming the latest scientific discovery or innovate biotechnology product…

When I was younger, I typically received the things I wanted, things such as toys – being that I was an only child – and never worried about hearing the answer, “No”. I had this insane idea that the world revolved around me. Although I still had the concept in my head, that it was all about me when I was informed I would be an older sister, I knew that nothing would be the same. Before I was a sister, I never took anyone else into consideration, and I was never told to do otherwise. I was around four years old, when this news has changed my life forever.…

After leaving my high school life behind me, I looked for a way to escape my dreary surroundings. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and even if I had, I had no plan to achieve them. I spent my last year trying to enjoy my time and desiring that other people invited me to be in their company that I had no plan for when that last school bell rang. When it finally rang out, I was again lost. The only difference was that I no longer had classes. Going to Rock Valley rectified that. Like other kids going to a community college, I had no direction in my classes and was without an idea about what a degree would get me.…
