Personal Narrative: I Turn Into The Classroom
My shoes clunked against on the tile floors. I look at my phone, 7:48. I only have a minute to go down three hallways; I’m going to be late. I turn sharply. 7:49. One more turn. 7:49. I can see the classroom. Brrrrrrrrrring. Mrs. Myer’s voice echoes down the hall. “The next assignment will be a clay pot.” I make the turn into the classroom, everyone's eyes shift to me. “Tardy yet again.” “Sorry. It won't happen again,” I say quietly. “The next assignment,” Mrs. Myers continued, “will be a bowl spun on the wheel. It’s due at the end of the week.” I knew this day was coming, the day where I would have to use the wheel. The day when Mrs. Myers explained how to use it, I was drifting in the clouds. I knew I should have been more focused. Now, I was clueless and confused.
Everyone went into the studio and snatched a wheel to begin. Everyone else was getting the supplies needed. I copied them and found the last wheel available. It was in the corner and had a tick to it that made its spin off. I gathered the supplies I saw others get.
First, I had to put on the splash pan on. The two sides were suppose to overlap each other, but they wouldn’t connect as if they were in an argument and one was stubborn. I looked around almost everyone

The moment when it came out of the kiln I realized through the heat and clinks my bowl might be the best one but it wasn’t the worst one. Not only that but it was my own pot of gold. Something I had made with my own two hands. If I had quit like I wanted to when I started, I wouldn’t have this bowl that had to be glazed and come home with me. It might not have the brightest sparkle to it but it' has enough shine to make it glow. I put the hard work and time into it, and it turned out better than I thought in a billion years it would have. Anything is possible if you put the time into it. Even if it might not be the best but it’s yours and nothing or nobody can take that away from

In Part A, a vehicle was created. The vehicle used gears and two wheel and axles. The gears turned as the front wheels rotated. The axles ran through the width of the vehicle, and the wheels connected to the axle on either side of the vehicle. Each wheel and axle was placed at different ends of the machine, however the vehicle has a short wheel base, since the vehicle is small. Each wheel had a tire for traction and smooth driving, and the vehicle moved one the wheels.…

I walked out of Miss Shnyzer’s office. It had been about an hour ago that Toby Kavner, my name, was called over the loudspeaker. I walked over to my mates, Max Lavell, Jimmy Cass and Dylan Dolan, who were tossing their apples over the wrought iron fence. They are too busy cracking jokes about some homework. I plump down beside Max and start crunching down on my ovalteenies.…

I lace up my walking shoes and head outdoors in my neighborhood. I enjoy being outdoors looking at the trees, neighbors' plants and flowers, ducks swimming in the creek, and squirrels scurrying up the trees. Before this year I was always dead set on being a high school history teacher and thought that I never wanted to teach anything else. During the fall semester I was placed in a sixth grade class for my observation hours and at first I was kind of upset about it. Once I experience a middle school classroom I was still on the fence about what grades I wanted to teach, but I figured I would take this course anyway. I am so happy I did because I decided I want to do my student teaching in middle school. I have realized this is such a unique time in children’s lives and I want more of the molding aspect rather than solely teaching like at the high school level. I want to not only educate students in history, but also have it relate to their every…

“Wrong answer Laurran, do it again,” Mrs. Taylor raised her voice at me. The room went silent. Nobody was talking or moving, to scared to get scolded by Mrs. Taylor. I always wondered who would want to marry her, or how she treated her kids at home. I honestly feel bad for her two kids if she treated her own students this way. I sat there, my eyes tearing up from embarrassment and failure. Mrs. Taylor doesn't understand how hard it is; doing math that is a grade above your level of experience. She doesn’t understand the pressure that is on me from my parents to do good and from the older kids in my class to show them I’m not dumb and I can do this.…

Growing up I spent most of my childhood in Vietnam living an ordinary life. My parents were not risk-takers until they decided to quit their career as educators and move to the United States. Knowing that life in America will be challenging for immigrants, we mentally prepared ourselves to be fearless and get through every obstacle that is in our way. No matter how prepare we were, being a newcomer was frightful. When I first step foot on the land of promise, there was a mixed emotion suddenly rushed through me as a signal telling me life here will not be easy. We faced will endless obstacles and the language barrier is the most, the biggest challenge for us. Personally, I think learning a new language is difficult and requires a lot of hard…

When I first arrived to Richmond Early College High School, I anticipated an academic career characterized by hard work, nightly homework assignments, and incredible doses of stress that a middle school classroom could not synthesize. Although I actually landed my first college class in the second semester of my ninth grade year (ACA, which was required for all newbies and taken simultaneously by all 50 of us), I found myself still shaken. I looked forwarded to the challenges of a college experience, but merely hearing the click of my instructor's heel's as I sat in that classroom for the first time sent my bones into a furious rattle. A worrywart by nature, I was both delighted and horrified by ACA.…

It was about 12:45am when Jenna had realized she didn’t have her history textbook to study from. She had thought to herself that maybe she would be okay without but she thought twice about this and groaned slightly and went upstairs to grab her textbook. The lights were dim in the long hallway, and the old boards creaked under her weary tread. She reached her room and turned the handle as softly as she could, pushing the door open just enough to slip inside, so that the hall lights wouldn’t wake her sister.…

There was a Tuesday when Bob was coming to my house after school; he said it would be a good idea to take some of the paint brushes home and play with them. I went through with his plan, but I was unsure how it would turn out. The red ink on my test startled me as I glanced at my grade. The noises of the people shifting and talking to one another faded into the background the longer I stared at the paper. The test seemed to haunt me the moment I shoved it ungracefully into my binder. The picture of the grade blazed across my mind causing my hands to shine with a thin layer of sweat. The flap of my binder swung shut quickly blocking my view of the graded test. The air seemed to grow colder the longer I sat there staring at the black binder. My mind froze as I thought of a level I was close to beating on an iPad game I was playing at home, and a new weapon I had unlocked in a new Xbox game all being suspended because my grades were falling like a lead balloon.…
