Personal Narrative: I Pursue My Education At UW-Platteville
My first few weeks of classes at UW-Platteville have surprisingly been fun and brought many opportunities of clubs I did not think I would join. When I imagined going to college for the first time, I thought I would cry and be homesick. To not be homesick I told myself to be involved with the Welcome Weekend activities and it worked! My classes were intimidating on the first day, but now that we have had many classes I am comfortable. I am using my time management skills everyday because I have many meetings to attend. Overall, I am glad I choose to continue my education at UW-Platteville because it feels like home.

I have many goals for my first semester of college. My first goal is to repeatedly communicate with my professor if I am having

In one year, I imagine myself beginning yet another exciting day at Mississippi State University pursuing my Bachelor of Music Education. In the early morning, I head to my theory classes. For the next couple of hours, I take my core classes, such as a biology lab. Afterwards, I spend some time studying in my dorm or relaxing on the Drill Field. My roommate finishes his classes, and we meet a few friends for lunch in Starkville. Then, I prepare for an afternoon marching band rehearsal. Shortly following practice, I freshen up and go to a club meeting. Then, I have my required honors class just a floor above our rooms. Finally, I return to my dorm and rest up for another day.…

I began working at Keeter my first semester at College of the Ozarks. On my first day of work, the supervisor handed me a gleaming gold name tag that not only had my name but the state I came from. I watched as others put their nametags on, and I quickly discovered that most of them read Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. I looked down at my nametag and felt a sense of uniqueness, knowing no one in the room had the state of Virginia. I soon began to realize that my nametag sparked curiosity when the guests saw how far I had traveled. Guest after guest would ask the same question, “How did you end up here?” I answered this question dozens of times within a day. There were days that I would begrudgingly tell the Keeter guests my journey to this College, but never once did I fail to cherish the opportunity I was given.…

This is because, when I first came to Napa Valley college, I had also just obtained my first job. The job which would allow me to help sustain myself and help my family financially. I was not used to this type of schedule when I first came into Napa College. This Is because I didn't know how to manage my time, and simply didn't know what to make as my major primary. I would like to transfer once I get my associate degree at a community college because I feel I am ready to move forward with my education. I currently am enrolled at Cabrillo Community College, which is, for the most part, a transfer prep college. Community College has prepared me to study at a University and I hope to continue my studies as far as I can go. As I grew up, I was interested in a wide range of subjects and never found one thing I was truly passionate about. When I started at community college, I was set on a computer science major because I knew I was computer proficient and enjoyed spending my free time figuring out programs. I struggled a great deal in the major. As I realized that I was not passionate about programming, I…

Carnegie Mellon is a remarkable school and the amount that the university invests in the students at the school is unbelievable. I visited the school on April 1 and I just loved the campus. It felt like home as I arrived and my whole fear of not liking the school was lifted from my shoulders. I feel like the trip with my family driving to Pittsburgh put me in a better place, especially being over five hours from home. That I wouldn’t have any family around just concerned me. When I arrived on campus I need to use the bathroom really bad so I left the parking lot and ran past the football field towards Jared L. Colon University Center I stumbled into an Indian man. He greeted me and I was in shock that someone actually spoke punjabi. That took…

The event that I choose to follow summer fest was a simple and casual visit to the wellness and recreational center, fancy way of saying the gym. Upon my first ever visit to Florida International University I still remember at our freshmen orientation entering the gym and thinking to myself this seems like a place that I will be visiting often during my four year tenure at school. And boy was I right, the facility was clean and professional looking very much like a professional gym would appear, the staff where all kind and ready to assist you if help was ever necessary, something that I truly valued. I was extremely exited to take a spinning class at the FIU gym, I had only ever heard positive reviews and I was looking forward to the experience as well. Personally I am obsessed with fitness so any class, or activity is something that I love to experience which is what drove me to experience the class myself, and did, I love it. When I got out of that class I was sweating so much, I felt like I had gone on a run around the world and it so amazing, the instructor knew exactly what she was doing and had no problem helping you out if you needed it, the music was fun and exiting extremely up tempo. Overall I can only rave about the experience, it was positive and motivational. It has truly inspired me to no matter how stressed I may be I can always go down to the gym and relieve my stress while gaining a benefit as well.…
