I listen to music as much as possible. I have learned that inside music I can find peace. I can often times find myself in tough situations but when I put in my earbuds I feel as if the world has fallen out from beneath my feet. I feel music relates to every situation, feeling, or throughout my life.
I believe in music. Music gives me a companion, it can represent and share my feelings, it adopts human characteristics. Music just like me can be melancholy, depressed, dark, energetic, upbeat, and bright this allows it to become an outlet; allowing me to feel as if there is someone sharing my current mood. When I am depressed I find myself listening to up beat music letting my thoughts fly free in the up beat rhythm and bright melody as it lifts my spirits becoming a crutch. I remember the song I was listening to when a major event took place in my life.

My love for music began in middle school. At that time, I was socially awkward with very few friends. To compensate, I buried myself in music. My dedication led to many honors and admiration from my peers. However, when I got to high school, my relationship with music fundamentally changed. The arrival of an overly demanding teacher coupled with a long episode of depression robbed me of my passion to play. As time progressed, the pain I felt became too much to bear, and I became desperate for an outlet in which I could express myself positively. My quest led me to music once more, but classical was no longer the genre of choice. It was in hip hop and rap music that I found the will to overcome mental illness.…

The age range of the audience was possibly around age 15 to age 80 give or take a few years, most of the people who showed up were college students though the rest was made up, of about 16 or so, elderly couples.…

Even in countries where food and water are scarce, they will still find a way to make music. Some luxuries are necessary to live a peaceful life, music being one of them. So, with that being said, music not only helps us through the tough times, but also keeps us alive. Music is like glue. It lets us keep our sanity. Music relates to us, thus letting us know, "Hey, you're not the only one going through this." Also, I'll bet my life that each and every one of you listens to music at least once a day. Music surrounds us, no matter what. Plus, music is not only good for your health, it's good for your soul. For some people, music is a distraction, but others, it helps them work, exercise, and even helps then remember easier. I know it dose for me.…
