Tomorrow I get married. You looked at yourself in the mirror, wearing your veil and holding your bouquet. You were still wearing your clothes from earlier that day which made for a strange combination with the fine lace draped on your hair and the calla lilies in your hands. It was a sight to take in and, somehow, made it seem very real and frightening. “I can’t do this,” you told your reflection. Your whole life you had been afraid of commitment, or more accurately, of making the jump to tell someone…

“I don’t know if I’ve ever been so damn proud.” The preceding quote was taken directly from my journal (not a diary) on July 31st, 2015. My crew of 8 and I had been through a lot this infamous day as we continued our 26-day trek through the magnificent yet unforgiving Canadian wilderness. At the present moment, however, I was currently enveloped in my welcoming and cozy sleeping bag reflecting on an arduous but immensely rewarding day. With the sputters and pops of spitting grease, we fried walleye…

As I began this journey, I had no idea how many tears would be shed, Pepto Bismol would be consumed, or how many gray hairs would appear. A simple thank you does not seem sufficient enough to express how I feel for the people who have come into my life to share this arduous journey. To Ronnie and Charles, who I shared the first 8 months of clinical. I thought you were both crazy for making me start on hour one, of day one, but you were right. Thank you. To Shawn Fox, who took me under her wing;…

"No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no," Kenma says, sighing heavily the next morning. "Using the Nekoma colours for our wedding is the worst idea." "But Kenma~" Kuroo whines. "I keep giving you suggestions and that's been the only good one! Can we just go for a walk around town now?" "I've told you that I can't walk," Kenma says, an unamused look on his face. "And it's your fault." "Not entirely. The wine helped a bit." Kuroo laughs and falls backwards as Kenma tries hitting him. "We've got about…

To recollect your memory is to exhume your cold corpse from a marble mausoleum and recite Vespers over the echo of your once beating heart. Oh, your beating heart. On evenings that were too cold or too windy for comfort, I would rest my head on the nape of your neck and embrace your body with my trembling arms. My palm would find your chest and the seismic resonance of your heart would give me that relieving reminder that you were indeed real. There was never a day where you could not satisfy my…

Even though I wasn’t your typical toddler, how could I have been so stupid? I may have been an utterly curious rug rat, maybe even more. However, once an idea popped up in my pint size brain it stayed there….Until I tried it. Most things weren't terrible. They were just average ideas that most toddlers think of. Just like they say in the commercials, “Kids discover the world with their mouths.” Another example of this is like biting the table because its looks like a humongous cookie. In most cases…
