Personal Narrative: How A Criminal Record Has Changed My Life
“Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough.”- Og Mandino
Within the whole situation and the outcome of the whole situation, it has changed my life tremendously. I know I could have reacted in a different way than the way I did. I am no longer that person I was and I am currently working on proving on who I am and what’s important to me. Having a criminal record is not one of them. That whole situation flipped my whole world upside and not for the better. It made things harder for me to success in this world, but I do not let that completely consume me. It hurts until this day to talk about what happen and what I had to face because of it. I was always told and faithfully believe that you cannot cry over

“WHOA WHOA WHOA THIS IS BALONEY MAN!” that is something I say whenever I am frustrated. People have always told me sometimes the best way to learn something is through failure. People value things they have accomplished differently. Often the people whom are naturally adept at things do not realize how much of a struggle it can be for others. Many times when people have told me that if you are going to fall, fall forward. Do not let your insecurities, doubts, and pride get in the way of improving yourself. In brief, there can always be a way to improve yourself.…

Michael Jordan once said “I’ve failed over and over and over again and that’s why I succeeded.” If you don’t even try in life you will never be successful. When you want to be successful as bad as you want to breathe then you be successful. Success is about developing personal wisdom and competence or what could be called personal mastery in the field you want to succeed in. Nothing is ever impossible to accomplish in life. You have to be determined that you can do the impossible. If you have determination you can overcome the adversities in life.…

I had the pleasure of being a client of Mr. White's and he made everything so simple for me. He took my Class A misdemeanor charges and laid out everything I would need to do to get the best result. He was extremely professional and knows his way around the courtroom. Between my arrest and court date he was able to formulate a case that made the charges against me seem nearly unfathomable. On my court date they tried to push my case back even further and he, despite having other clients to attend to, returned back to my case and got my charges dismissed that day.…

About the only good thing that came out of me going to jail was meeting this guy named Lev. He was a skinny guy that did not look like he committed a vicious crime. He didn’t he was in jail for looting a dead German on Voinova Street. He was really rude when I tried to make company, but I could understand why because at times like these you can’t trust anyone. I asked him if he was a Jew and he did not appreciate that, because he thought I looked like a Nazi, but after he found I wasn’t he was ok with the question. I gave him some sausage because I figured he would be hungry. We both were wondering why they didn’t shoot us because that was the punishment for both of our measly little crimes. I started to take notes in my journal on Ushakovo’s…

Many people around the world face many hardships and struggles. They will fail multiple times, but this is what motivates them to work harder and achieve their goals. Some people jump to the highly controversial conclusion that people who have failed are weak and incompetent. This is a false accusation many individuals make since failure actually helps builds character and shapes you as a leader. Henry Ford once said “failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently. Failure gives you another chance to fix your mistakes, and learn what you did wrong to improve yourself. To be successful you need to experience failure so you can understand your mistakes and reflect on your wrong doings. Failure is something everyone needs in order to accomplish their dreams and goals. Being successful involves failure, and failure consists of being persistent…

At first, hearing that I’m able to do anything I want with no repercussions sounds amazing, but when I think more and more about it, it doesn’t seem as pleasing. When I begin to think about this concept, I think about things that increases my wealth and stuff that I just want. Of course, it would be fun to break the law for the first couple of times, but after that, it just gets boring and tedious. Not only that, I don’t think I could just do certain things. My morals and the way I grew up wouldn’t allow me. Furthermore, life would be pointless. There wouldn’t be a reward system. For example, I wanted a pair of shoes. My parents didn’t want to buy for me because they didn’t see them as something I needed, so I worked for it. I worked as a…

When I was younger, I typically received the things I wanted, things such as toys – being that I was an only child – and never worried about hearing the answer, “No”. I had this insane idea that the world revolved around me. Although I still had the concept in my head, that it was all about me when I was informed I would be an older sister, I knew that nothing would be the same. Before I was a sister, I never took anyone else into consideration, and I was never told to do otherwise. I was around four years old, when this news has changed my life forever.…

The police said it was a robbery and that my father car was found stripped and left up on blocks. My father was barely hanging on for dear life when one of the attorneys from his old job came to tell me that his disability would now be cut off because there would be no way to tell if his injuries was from the job or from the robbery. What the man had offered as a way to help pay the debt had me taking a swing at him, but his men stopped me. Luckily, the police officer who was investigating the robbery walked in.…
