Personal Narrative: Hayk's Car Driver
Since the age of sixteen, I always wanted to get my drivers license. I though it was the coolest achievement ever in life. I also thought how awesome it would be driving to school instead of taking the school bus or being able to go on that date. Furthermore, not depend on my parents driving me somewhere. After years of asking for rides and not being able to do what I want, I finally got motivated to get my license. On the day of my behind the wheel driving test I had mixed emotions. I was a little bit nervous, what if I do not pass and was getting a little bit excited, thinking of all the opportunities I had if I did pass. I was nervously waiting in the car at the road test parking area for a DMV proctor to come. While my driving instructor, Hayk was chatting with other instructors in the shade. After what seemed to be the longest wait in my whole entire life was just fifteen minutes. After fifteen minutes past, an orange cone was placed on the hood of my car signaling I was next. A chubby American in his forties or fifties came up to Hayk’s car and asked a series of questions. Good afternoon Alan! My name is Bobby. May I have your permit and proof of insurance please? Good afternoon, Bobby! Here is my permit and proof of insurance for Hayk’s car. After Bobby checked my permit and insurance. Bobby tested me on the controls of the car. …show more content…
Some of the things I remembered from Hayk was to remain relax at all times and make sure to have both hands are on the steering wheel at all times. My dad always reminded me to use my mirrors and double check cross traffic at all intersections. During the driving test, many questions were going through my mind. Was I at the speed limit? Did I check my mirrors? Did I make a full stop at a stop sign? Did I brake to hard? What is front car doing? After about ten minutes, Bobby told me to drive in and park. The test was quicker than I

As I stepped into the mud colored cattle car, just the sight of it had made me wince. As I entered, it was like the other passengers were staring at me with shame, since if you were in the cattle car you had to of done something bad. I quickly put my head down. I could just feel the sticky wretched smell of feces and body odor in the car. My mother and I put our suitcases on the shelves, heaving them with all our strength to the very top shelf. We waited hours for in the dark, crammed, and smelly car before we started moving.…

After I was driving at a comfortable pace for a couple minutes, Mr. Schimp thought it would be a good idea if I tried to use cruise control. He went through the steps of where the buttons were and how it works and asked, “Are you ready to try it?” I said yes because I knew I would eventually have to try it, and that was the day. Sweat came down my nose dripping like if I were sweating bullets. I was being put to the test both mentally and physically, and I never expected it to be this hard. I was being yelled at receiving all the attention to keep going and not stopping. Even though I'm going through this, I stayed motivated, thinking to myself that I can do one more. At the end of the day, I reminded myself of a Navy Seal instructor saying, “Whatever you have to do, just find an excuse to win, keep going.” Just these few words made me survive the night and find that reason to keep going. Now I know what it takes to be on the California highway patrol.…

As we found the place I saw that the instructors were about to leave. I got out of the car and one of the instructors ask me if I was here to take my driving test and I said yes. The instructor looked kind of mad and told me that they usually don’t wait more than 3 minutes for people and that I was lucky she didn’t leave. My mom, dad, and my brother got out of the car and the instructor told me to get in the car. I was pretty nervous and I remember my dad saying “breath and don’t worried you would do fine”. As I got in the car with the instructor I obviously had to fix the seat because you know I’m kind of short and couldn’t reach the accelerator. The instructor…

Sophomore year marks the time young adults start learning how to drive. But before this process begins one has to receive a permit. I remember that the moment that I became eligible for a permit, that I made my mom take me to the DMV right after school. When I took the test I failed but this was my first time so I laughed it off and blamed it on me being nervous. So I told myself that next time I would study. When I went back to retake the test I had kind of studied and I failed again. I remember when I went back to the car…

When I did research online, I learned that I would need to take two tests. One would be on sign recognition, and the other on driving rules, regulations, and laws. I was truly nervous, and I knew that I needed to be studying dutifully.…

There were many preparations I had to accomplish to get my license. I first had to go to the DMV to take my written exam so I can get a permit first. After I passed the test, I had to wait 2 weeks to get my permit in the mail so I could drive with some with a license.I now had to schedule an appointment to take the 5 hour course which is required to get a license. After I completed the 5 hour course, I scheduled an appointment with the DMV to take my road test. The day to my appointment was coming up so my sister had me drive her car to practice with it. But I wasn't just driving any automatic car, I was driving a stick shift car with 6 gears. I had to drive the car around town so I could get comfortable with it until the day of my road test. As the days kept on coming and getting closer to my road test, the more nervous and scared I was.…
