Personal Narrative: Frustration As A Nurse
Hours after surgery, a nurse tries to assists me from the portable hospital bed into my assigned bed. Frustration comes over me; I stand from the bed and place myself where the nurse instructs me. That next morning, I realize how much I dislike hospitals, and my determination to leave increases. Every day is a new start, and each day brings new opportunity, I focus on healing and becoming stronger. Progression begins on taking walks as far down the hall as I can endure; although it hurts, I carry onward. Time is not my medicine, tenacity is. Longer walks around the hospital comes slowly and painfully. However, being able to walk normally eventually comes a week later, and I am able to dress and get myself ready all by myself.
