I sat at my desk staring at the blinking line in Microsoft word.‭ ‬Still a blank page…I had been sitting here for three hours and I hadn’t been able to type a word.‭ ‬A sigh escaped my lips as I looked around my boring room leaning back in my navy blue computer chair.‭ ‬My neon green digital alarm clock told me it was‭ ‬9:11‭ ‬PM and I had school tomorrow.‭ ‬I sat forward resting my head on one of my arms and staring at the screen.‭ ‬I could normally just start typing but this time I happened to have a serious case of writer’s block and it was going to kill me and my grade if I didn’t get this paper done.
‭“‬How can writing a paper about one of the most interesting men ever be so difficult‭?” ‬I whined pathetically.‭ ‬I have all the information,‭

    My writing process is usually all over the place, I have to be in my room with my door shut, my music on, my fan on, and my television on, weird, I know, but that is what I have to do in order to keep myself concentrated.     I have decided to do a topic near and dear to my heart, writer's block. Actually that was such a lie. I struggle with this almost every time I have to write something, whether it’s a writing prompt or even just a simple response. Say you have to write a five paragraph essay that is due the next day, but you hit a rock and you’re stuck on what to write next. What do you do? How can you get out of this misery? Well, it looks like you have come down with a case of writer’s block. Knowing me, I have had writer’s block too many times but with a couple of tools and strategies, I have learned how to get through it from my tutor who has saved me the many times that this misery has happened.     Although this was one of the smaller and easier assignments, I found it amazing how word choice can portray a variety of different stories. I felt that I was able to build a more detailed image of my Holocaust victim, almost as if were were given the opportunity to retell their story.     My writing has changed a lot in my first-semester essay writing class. I finally took a class that teaches me useful information and how to properly write an essay.
