Personal Narrative Essay: Why I Live In The United States
For about twelve years I lived in the United States, California. Back then with G. Bush on power there weren't that many opportunities for Latinos. That's why I moved back to Mexico to continue study. Nowadays I can't imagine how hard it is going to be for youg Latinos to find out the way to be successful, in country were people full of anger, hate and ignorance have elected a piece of shit as their president.
I know it's not even my country, and that here in Mexico we have a shit of president too. People might say, -"you live in Mexico, this doesn't affect you... ", but it does, this election affects my american friends directly, actually the whole world will be screwed. America is in for the next war sooner than later.
To my fellow Mexicans

Although the economic bad times have dampened a lot of energy, it sends the message that if pushed too far, the powerless will defend themselves. Being someone who has not personally suffered this injustice in the Latino community I can reference my own experiences with difficulty adjusting to this country. As a Muslim in this time I feel the need to “hide” or not draw much attention to my faith or where I come from. It feels like if I were to be more open with who I am people would be inclined to think a certain way about me. Racism is still alive and seeing history and how these people lost their fear because they got to a point where they also needed to be validated as human beings that deserve respect and all the opportunities in this country gives me…

Along with the dangers of just traveling up there, people in the United States can stand rather racist towards anyone they do not like.…

Three years ago, my family made the biggest decision of our lifetime together and we had decided to move. Now the fact that we were moving didn’t bother me or my little sister, it was just the simple fact that we were moving from our home that we had grown up in our entire life. The only problem was the fact that we had eventually found out that we were going to move to Oregon. This Alabama home that we grew up in was very special to me and my sister but it wasn’t the one of best of places.
