One of the best days of my life, was when I was seven years old and I walk through the front door and notice a small brown little puppy with big droopy ears sound asleep in a little basket. I grew ecstatic each second that went by,but was also very nervous since this was the first time ever owning a dog. I still remember till this day how my brothers and I would argue, on what we were going to name our little pup. Our little beagle was light brown all over, except all four of his paws were white. My brothers and I, finally came to an agreement on a name, which was Rocko. My Dad was the one who brought the little ball of energy home. But my mother, was very hestitant since my brothers and I were still very young. She knew that owning a dog was going to be a very big responsibility. I quickly, became attached to Rocko making …show more content…
It took us a few weeks to get settled into our new home, Rocko loved the new huge yard. Rocko, started to bump into items in the yard but we didn't think much of it. One day I was trying to feed him a dog treat and he couldn't see that it was in my hand, it was hard to take in that my dog was losing his sight. Eventually, he lost all of his sight and couldn't see what he was doing or where he was going. Rocko himself was aware of his loss of sight so what helped him get around the house and yard was that he remembered the layout of our furniture, so he had his own route from point A to point B when he would get out of bed. A week, before my birthday last year Rocko won't up and he began bleeding again and his body was shaking. It was his time to go, our family made the decision to put him down. The day,our family put him down was one of the hardest days of my life. I think back now on all the good times and memories we had with Rocko and his presence was truly a blessing. Even after his passing,Rocko gives me a whole new look on

One of the best moments in my life is when I was going to get my dog. It started off with my mom saying “I was looking at dogs for sale and I saw this Labradoodle, and I was wondering if you guys wanted to go and see if you wanted to get him.” Of course we responded yes because we had been looking for a dog for about 3 months. The reason why we have been looking for this type of dog is because Labradoodles are known for being hypoallergenic,(Vetstreet) and my brother, mom and I are all allergic to dogs. My dad wasn't so sure if it was a good idea to get a dog because we didn’t have a cage, bowl, or anything for him. We got in the car and drove about 3 hours.…

My family dog is a hairless Chinese Crested named Sid. He is a gray, white, and black dog with no hair except on his head, paws, and the tip of his tail. We rescued Sid 8 years ago from Detroit, Michigan. His owners left him outside in the freezing cold when they moved away. They abandoned him. Adopting Sid changed my life forever. By caring for him, I have learned loyalty, responsibility, love, compassion, and patience. These are traits I see and feel within him as well. I believe animals mirror God’s hope and love for us. For example, God wants us to forgive others who have done us harm. Sid has forgiven his original owners by moving beyond the shy and fearful dog he was when we first brought him home. He is a happy and joyful dog now.…

I received a call from my son’s uncle, Harold asking if I would give him a ride to a friend’s house to examine some pit bull puppies she had for sale. At first I had planned other activities for the day, but my daughter who overheard the conversation begged me to go. I made the plans to pick him up and as we were getting ready to leave, I reminded my daughter that we were not going for us. I had owned dogs in years past, and after the last one was stolen out of my yard, decided it was too painful to own a dog. Also, I had heard all the horror stories of people having pit bulls around their kids. When we arrived at my friend, Courtney’s house, I heard the deep barking from inside. My friend motioned for us to wait at the front door as she put…

My family had wanted a dog for a long time. There were no pounds near us and all dogs that were being sold locally were very expensive. My family had also been very picky about dog breeds due to most of our dogs having problems physically. We had even been willing to give money to buy the dog, but my dad said no. My dad wanted a break and thought, maybe they will leave me alone on a vacation. So, that year we went to the Yogi Bear campground around the Natural bridge. We had been there before and had the same spot every time, and this time we had a nice neighbor.…

I remember the first time I created art. I was seven years old and I was already in the midst of learning about myself. The pencil crayons felt like paint brushes as I let my inner artist run wild. I felt like Matisse himself even though I had no idea who that was at the time. I drew a rose and an off-coloured clownfish that looked more like Tiger. Although the things I drew had no significance, the idea of creating something captivated me ever since. I practiced baking to settle my need for creation and ended up falling in love with the hobby; baking is what fulfilled my need for creation and decoration. I still satisfy my need for art by occasionally visiting the Art Gallery of Ontario or drawing silly sketches the on scrap pieces of paper…

I felt this sense of fear, but I knew it was just nervousness. It caused my whole body to tremble. I creeped onto the field and pass by the fifty girls and all of the coaches. Just me walking by everyone gave me this ginormous knot in my stomach, it made me feel like I was going to pass out right on the field. I was breathing heavy, like I just ran a marathon. I was beyond nervous just to be the new girl on the field. I was scared of what the girls thought of me, and how the coaches thought I would play and adapt to the sport. I had never even picked up a lacrosse stick and the girls were passing, catching and shooting on goal: how does a new player get to there if they were two week late into the season? I was terrified I would never get to the level of the rest of the team.…
