Personal Narrative: Dodgeball Competition
We had an amazing time that night because there was a dodgeball tournament which was absolutely crazy. We didn’t even play until the last couple of games where we only played 3. We all had stepped up our game and destroyed the competition. We all thought we had lost it since I got 3 people out and caught 1 while getting hit. Knowing that everyone was eliminated Asher 1 vs. 7 had clutched the semi final round taking us to the finals. It was an amazing feeling in the finale considering the team we beat had a cheater on it and that we wouldn’t of won without Asher.

I was playing dodge ball. Usually I'm not very good at it, but one day, I was the last one on the court, and someone threw the ball at me. At that moment, I felt like the end was near. I heard mixed yells from my friends; yells of "Run" and "Catch it!" I almost felt the ball hitting my face as it was coming toward me! I closed my eyes! I heard a loud bang, not unlike a ball hitting someone. First, there was silence, then yells and cheers! I didnt't feel any pain. I realised that since I hadn't felt any pain, I had probably died. Well, I lived a good life. It had seemed that my death had been inevidable to me. I opened my eyes and looked down, expecting to see my body, lying on the floor. but it wasn't. 'That's strange', I thougt, I looked at…

The following morning, I skip bike practice again, but Doris goes anyway. At the office, Megan caters to me. On her way in, she stopped at Trader Joe’s to buy me a protein drink with antioxidants from Trader Joe’s, a bottle of chewable Vitamin C and a whole grain carrot muffin. I drink half the bottle and listen as she tells me, “Thom cancelled the development meeting, since he met with you the other day.”…

And to finish up that inning we just got a couple ground balls and we turned a double play. And for the next few innings nothing really happened both teams were struggling to hit. Now it's like the 5th inning and we have the top of our hitting order up so we had:Liam,Luke,Ryan,Alex as our 1,2,3,4 hitters. And we got a rally going and we scored a couple runs so at this point the score is 5-1 and we have the lead so then I go into the 6th inning to pitch and I can only do ⅔ of the inning so than Ryan comes in and pitches and to finish out the 7th Alex pitches a 3 strikeout inning. So the game was over and the presedent of the league gave me the game ball to keep and bring home and everyone on our team got a trophy to take home after we won we were all so happy that we won the championship because it was or a lot of people the first time they won something. The…

I was an eight year old kid when I had my first ever glimpse of the NBA Basketball. It was a lanky afro manchild doing a reverse dunk versus Indiana right in front of the Laker crowd. Crowd was in awe, Commentators were ecstatic and Kevin Harlan in his usual voice saying, Kobe can’t be denied. That day, my love affair with the Los Angeles Lakers started.…

For as long as I remember, I have been raised with a basketball hoop. This hoop stood firmly, looking down at the trees secured by patches of cement in my backyard, in my neighborhood, Dorchester. This hoop was my center of faith and tranquility surrounded by gunfires, shattering windows, car alarms. As a girl, I learned not to adventure any place else other than this hoop because going beyond its faded lines on the concrete is an unknown world full of hazards and danger. And when I did cross these seraphic lines, I could sense the bittersweet emotions running throughout the neighborhood, my home.…

It is the bottom of the ninth and I was last at bat. The ball came zooming towards me at a high rate of speed. The vibration of metal meeting leather rang out in my hands. No hesitation was made. I dropped the bat and ran as fast as I could to first base. My coach was telling me to keep going because the ball was fumbled. I rounded third base and my coach motioned for me to take it home with a slide. Down I went. Dust was flying. The crowd was standing and cheering loudly as the referee motions and yells, “Safe!” All I heard was screaming as dust still loomed the air around me. I could manage to see my team going wild, jumping, and screaming. Everyone seemed to be celebrating except me.…

The dorky, round glasses settled crookedly on my face, and my poor fashion sense gave the impression of an athletic misfit. I was sitting in my freshman geometry class, talking to some friends about injuries. We were talking about how none of us have ever gotten injured in our entire life. I had been playing sports since I was in the sixth grade, and nothing ever happened. In my life I had never broken a bone. I had never even sprained an ankle. I had never worn any kind of brace, taped an ankle, or talked to a trainer about any muscle issue or pain issue. When kids would lay on the court, I always thought they were fine or looking for a little attention. My thought was that they needed to rush off the court because they were dripping sweat all over the hardwood floor, and they were taking too much time up. I used to assume they were killing our momentum when they would fall down and cry because some schools…

Baseball is a sport which involves two teams made up of, more or less, nine players. A baseball game is played on what we call a baseball field. Baseball is has been called the bat-and-ball game, in which a pitcher throws the baseball as fast and hard as he can and the batter tries to make contact with the baseball. Hitting a baseball requires hand-eye coordination. The players in the outfield attempt to catcher the ball before the batter reaches home base.…
