From being hopefuls to new girls, we stood back and watched what we thought to be the greatest drill team dance. We admired the precision and passion the team held in their performance. We watched back stage while our excitement grew that we had finally made it to the Deer Escorts. While watching, a “new new no more” seemed to stand out on stage. Her bright eyes and big smile filled the stage. That next Instatllation, she became our squad leader. She was sweet to us and a litle shy, but made us all feel welcome. She made our new girl year as best she could and never lost hope in the challeneges the team faced. She had our respect and admiration. From new girl year to junior year, she became our colonel. She was still sweet, humble and poised.
