Later on that night, my friends Nautica,India and I were on our way to Wehrenberg St. Clair 10 Cine to see the Conjuring. I was tariffed I hate scary movies. I didn't want to be the oddball so I decided to go. Luckily it started snowing deleterious so we couldn't go. So we had come up with a new plan. Since we couldn't go to the movies bring the movies to us. We decided to watch high school musical 3. The pleasing taste of the popcorn when it dissolved in my mouth was unforgettable. High School Musical: the 2006 movie that changed America and me. The movie depicted high school as a place where students sang in between classes, danced on the lunch tables, and, obviously, found lifelong love. As a wide-eyed six year old, all of this sounded great to me. I was itching to go to high school and participate, and if someone had asked me to, I would’ve dropped everything for that dancing and singing kind of scenario.…

After my second year in high school, I made a decision that would turn out to be life changing. This decision wasn’t life changing in the way that getting married or going to college would be, but I really learned a lot about myself that summer. What I’m about to tell you is what happened when I switched from Marching Band to Football. I will explain to you why this switch was such a big deal to me and what I learned about myself from it. Switching from Marching Band to Football after my Sophomore year of high school changed the way I saw myself because I found I have a strong enough will to follow my heart despite controversy with others, I have a strong desire to be in control of my life, and I have an aggressive side that had not shown itself before.…

Another term to describe how this event plays as a horror movie in my mind is referring to it as the “Twilight Zone”. Before I encountered this “force “or what I have referred to as a “religion” I was always involved in my community, kept close relationships with prior friends and always served in the church. In addition public places were normal I always interacted with employees at local stores and many people in public places. The main thing I received from friends, family and church is fellowship and truth. Besides truth there was also a certain amount of trust you expect from friends and especially family and the church. Many times when you face those outside of your family friends and the church you may be refused the truth and trust.…

As I was writing my personal narrative for my composition 1 class, it easily made my mind boggle. After I had got started on my personal narrative, it was easy for me to keep writing and keep following along the story line. The main strength of mine that the essay played to was my creativity and my flexibility for different writings, because I have never written an essay as serious and sad as this one, but I did have to add my happy ending when I finished the story. I wanted it to be very attention grabbing with a twist, but I also wanted it to be very emotional.…

Yet another Thanksgiving, and I was stuck in my uncle’s basement watching the Redskins face off the Dallas Cowboys. Michael Jordan, Serena Williams, and various other famous athletes all grinned at me from their respective Wheaties boxes, seemingly mocking my pain. My uncle collected them and, for some reason, had decided the bright orange boxes would be a great decorative addition to the basement wall behind the television. I remember once, when I was younger, I was searching for a movie to watch and I accidentally brushed against a limited edition Michael Jordan box. The box began to teeter, and I immediately knew that I was doomed. All the boxes began to fall like dominos to the floor. My uncle, needless to say, was furious. Thus, it was seemingly fitting that the offended boxes, now realigned on the wall, would have the privilege to witness my torture by football.…

I have transferred to a different school each year since I was a freshman. Leading up to the first time my parents announced we were moving, during the end of my eighth grade year, I had started to inwardly question the act of personal change, and how it can affect one’s mind. This is the time where I had a plethora of internal conflict relating to one’s change and growth as a person. Recognizing that my act of change was being separated from my small yet important group of friends, I remember standing in the quad one day, alone, looking at everyone around me and realizing that they've been through change. Whether it was more or less than my amount of personal change it doesn’t matter, because there is no true way to literally measure one’s…
