Loyalty is important quality to me and to my friends. I play for the Clearfield High baseball team I play with these guys and am with them most of the time. Getting to know them and what they are like as a person outside baseball, but at the same time I am the hardest on them than anyone of my other friends. I see the potential in them when they themselves lose sight of it. As much as I love winning, I care more about our team and how they play and it is important to know the guy to my left and the guy to my right will put in as much effort as I will to become better as a team and not as an individual. When my teammates have success I want rejoice with them. As being loyal to my baseball friends…

While watching Edward sprint out of the town, everyone in the diner lowered their heads, then walked over to a large park in the center of town. This was the normal reaction after each person had left the town. Being the known speaker for the town, I had been propped up on a bench, with everyone in town staring at me, awaiting my response to this disappointing outcome. However, this time, I couldn't find the words of comfort. Even though it would've been nice to have Edward join them, he seemed like a pleasant individual, and made him question why he is trying to prevent good people from trying to pursue their dreams.…

I look over at Tanner waiting for him to cut back door. His man was over playing him like crazy. He was so tight on him, you could have thought he was glued to him, and then he cut backdoor, a perfect time for a bounce pass, but then a big man slid over. My pass looked like a bullet out of the chamber flying to my big man James, he puts up the layup, but missed.…

Growing up in New York City has been one of my biggest blessing. I’ve met with so many different personalities and cultures that I feel more well rounded by default. One thing that I’ve always found lacking in the city is the presence of small stable communities. My elementary school had 800 kids and my high school has over 5000 kids. Barnard offers the best of both worlds for meーa small college community situated in the best city in the world.…

It was the day after halloween, and all was well. The sun was out, and the birds were chirping. At the time I was young, and unusual mean to my sister. Since I was the old child, I terrorized her. I had collected tons of candy from trick or treating, and was excited to eat some. However when I left my room to eat lunch I caught my sister red-handed eating my candy. I became filled with rage as she devoured the king size Hershey's bar. I yelled her name, and swiped the remnants of the bar from her hand. All she did was laugh at my misfortune, but I would make her pay.…

My owner is dead. I am alone now, left to face the frigid temperatures alone. The trail is long ahead, I just want to go to bed, but I can’t. The struggle is real, I cannot feel my paws nor see them under the powder snow. I keep moving, looking, and searching for a place to go; a place of warmth. The man can no longer make a fire for me to keep warm, and I am a dog that is acclimated to being warm. I have got to keep moving ahead and never tire. The obstacles ahead are going to be difficult to overcome. Backing down is not an option, doing what I have to do to survive is what I will do. You have no clue quitting is not in my vocabulary.…

Reading the story “The Chase” took me back to an event I feel if I had to judge anything that grossly affected my life this event without a dough takes the cake. Picture this am twelve years old and it is the first day of summer. It is the day my friends and I waited for all winter, opening season for swimming. Each day my friends and I took the long anticipated walk to the local swimming area “Lake Sona Vista”. This was the recreation area the black families who lived in Hartsville, South Carolina used for recreational family get together (cookout, family reunions, parties, and swimming). On the park’s grounds there was a clubhouse made of grey brick blocks. The house, or should I say clubhouse had a total of 6 rooms. The first room was the…
