Personal Narrative: Can I Play
One day my little brother followed me to the park and I was playing basketball. He was just playing on the little slide and eventually he got board. I saw him come over to me. He said “ Can I play. “ He said that over and over and finally I left to go home. At home I started playing the Xbox. About an hour later he came in and wanted to play with me. I had told him no so he left. He went down stairs and heard him talking to my mom. I could not hear what they were saying but I knew he was snitching on me. I did not care because he does it all the time and still does. Then he came upstairs and said “ Mom said you have to play with me. “ “ No. “ I said to him. “ I don't want to. “ I yelled “ Instantly he grabbed

Role playing for me is very anxiety inducing. I am not a good public speaker and I hate it when all the attention is on me. I am an introvert to the core. Going into the role play I was nervous and uncomfortable and was anticipating a challenging experience. After seeing the other role plays I knew that the topic I would cover would not be an easy one, but honestly in life when in life are topics ever easy?…

In seventh grade I wanted to tryout for volleyball. I was very nervous because I had never played it before. I was super happy when I found out all my friends and I made the team. We had a lot of practices in December to get ready for games in January. I was really nervous for our first game. Our first game was supposed to be right after christmas break ended, but we had a snow day so it was cancelled. I wished it hadn’t been so I could just get it over with, but i was gonna have to wait. We were scheduled for another game later that week. I woke up with a phone ringing and an answering machine saying that school was cancelled due to boiler issues. I sat in bed thinking I had once again gotten lucky and we had no game, I was wrong. We were…

Ever since I was born, I was a military brat. Not knowing where to call home, or if any place could be home, I moved. I moved six times, four of those places were towns that nobody could think about. Germany, North Carolina, Alaska, North Carolina, Germany, and Alaska, yet no place to call home. May 22, 1999, my first day on this world; Kronach hospital had its first American baby in their hands, yet they acted like I was a different species. The only event I remember was when I was about one. While I was one, I grabbed everything in my reach, even a grill handle. As a baby, I did not know that the handle was moving, the grill top had smashed my thumb. Ever since that event, I now have a starfish mark on the side of my right thumb from where the stiches were.…

If I was a sport, I would be volleyball. I think I would be volleyball because volleyball is a sport where there are players that are on the front line, and there are players at the back that volley and help the offensive players spike and earn points. I think my personality varies between a front line player; outgoing and confident, and a defense zone player; supportive and subdued. I also think I would be volleyball because you can’t play volleyball alone; you need a team. I rely on family and friends as my team, so I can succeed. In volleyball, there are also many rallies in which the ball crosses each side of the net multiple times. I think this represents not only my tendency to be indecisive, but also my search for perfect opportunities.…

Football has always been a big part of my life. As a young boy I would day dream of making insane touchdowns, making tackles that would leave man stuck in the ground, and even winning the heisman trophy. In 7th grade I had begged my mother endlessly to sign me up for pee wee football because she would always worry about the risks of football. After finally getting her to sign me up, we went straight into the season. I chose to play running back because as a 12-year-old I was remarkably fast having timed 5.3 in the 40 yard-dash. After a few weeks in the season we approached the playoffs and found out our opponent for the first round of the playoffs were the jaguars who were undefeated. Our team didn’t have the best chemistry on…

Then, a few weeks later, after I got home from softball practice, there was a strange but familiar looking truck parked beside moms car. After getting a shower and fixing myself something to eat I noticed mom come out of her room. Normally when she would come out of her room she would leave her door open, but not this time. I knew that something was up, and I asked her who was there. She whispered and said that his name was Scott. Come to find out that it was the guy who helped us move into the apartment. Talk about an awkward situation. This was my mom, and she wasn't supposed to have someone staying over at the house,…
