Personal Narrative: Australian Cattle Dog
For as long as I could remember 'getting ready for summer' also included my dog as well, my little girl always needed a new leash and collar because spring wouldn't be spring without getting your best girl a new outfit LOL.

Unfortunately for the past two years, I didn't have that joy, because my best friend "Pepper" had passed on and I just never had the will to visit the shelter and rescue another dog.

Pepper was an Australian Cattle Dog and from the moment I laid eyes on her, this beautiful spotted 8-week-old bundle of happiness just stole my heart. From the moment we took her home till the day she passed on 12 years later, she was my absolute best friend.

Pepper was my joy and it's tough to move on from that kind of happiness. I have

So while the rest of the world sleeps, I can bang away on my keyboard, the only drawback to the quiet is how it reminds me of how much I miss my Pepper.

For those 12 wonderful years, at night it was just me and Pepper. If anyone is thinking of going to a shelter look for a cattle dog because they are incredibly smart. We had our routine down from day one. 11 pm before I started working we went out for a 15-minute walk, and when I got back into my office I went and she would settle down in her bed at the side of my desk. Like most dogs, she would lightly sleep, but always ready to spring into action if needed. It was amazing to me because she wasn't wearing a watch but each night around 5 am I look over and catch a glimpse of those big brown eyes looking up at me.

She would lay there patiently waiting for the moment I leaned back in my chair signaling I needed a break. The instant that happened she was up doing her little cha-cha dance, all giddy with excitement because we would be going for her walk. While I don't do the Cha-Cha never-the-less I am sure she knew I loved them as much as she

Normally I won't write about products, I may have written about a handful of things over the years. I believe the only item I ever really written a story on something was a Hoodie that had a front pocket designed to carry a cat or small dog. I thought it was a unique product, a little on the pricey side, but it was cool only because one of my cats needs to sleep on my chest for at least 15 minutes each night before he walks off to that nights sleeping spot. Basically, this hoodie fit my needs perfectly so for me that gave me permission to write about them... I did not receive $1 nor did I ask for a discount.

My regular readers know I am honest (some say, too honest) because I have never once asked for money to write about something or used my site to get freebies and I stumbled across something that I like, it looks cool to me, I honestly use it and I believe it is high quality then I have no problem writing a review about it, or even recommending

It started off like everyday for every beagle working in the airport. A beagle’s life working in the airport is mainly using our acute sense of smell to sniff out any meats or plants that could possibly carry diseases or pests. I work in the Beagle Brigade at the Tay Airport. The Beagle Brigade is a team of beagles, and human handlers that search for prohibited agricultural products, and unauthorized meats. From what I’ve heard my owner says that without us our foods wouldn’t be safe, and there can be diseases that can be introduced in the U.S.To make it simple, without us humans wouldn’t be safe at all.…

Hello I am Kiowa’s lieutenant from the Alpha Company, I would like to give some background information about me to you guys. I am a sophomore in college and I had joined up for the Reserve Officer Training Corps because it was worth a few credits and few of my friends had joined, making me want to join. In all honesty I do not care about this war and I have no desire on becoming a team leader but I have ended up as the leader of Kiowa and his friends. I am insecure about the decisions I would make, leading me to make two of my soldier’s death. The first death would be a soldier named Ted Lavender. When spring break technically started which was Monday I sat at home and enjoyed the company of my family. We played board games and planned trips that we were planning on taking in the summer. Surprisingly, we decided on a cruise courtesy of Carnival Cruise line or should I say my aunt because she works there. With a cruise approaching as well as major school events, only one thing was in my mind and that was shopping! We literally shopped till we dropped over spring break and probably shopped a little more than we should have. Shopping from Tuesday to through Sunday can actually be exhausting, especially when you have a huge family like mine.…

Sabrana our dog was one example of your rescues we have had. We had found Sabrana on the highway helpless, unwanted. My mother at the time had not told my dad nor anybody else to help her out to rescue Sabrana. She simply chased the dog and got her in her car. She drove home with her and ever sense took care her like a daughter until she died. My mother and I have seen and rescued dogs, bringing them back where they are most comfortable. She had kept another animal, a cat by the name of Tia that she rescued. I would want other people to rescue animals like my mother did so the animals will not…

When I was in first grade, my mother finally relented and bought my sister a dog, a tiny, black Cockapoo puppy she named “Pepper”. Allison had wanted one for a long time and her pleas were duly noted after she tried to bring our cousin’s dog back to Maryland with us. The tantrum on the way home when her plans failed was the tipping point. A year passes and my mother loves Pepper so much so she wants another dog. There was an unspoken agreement that this second dog would be mine. A day's trip back to the breeder in Virginia and we learned there weren’t many Cockapoo puppies left to choose from. My parents idea to get a white one and name it “Salt” were, understandably, put on hold. Nevertheless, I examined the few puppies left and choose one…

Max was my best friend. He was a very lively golden retriever with a golden brown body and a white chest. My father got the dog before I was born, and just when he meets my mom. I remember feeding him table scraps and my mom getting mad because he shouldn’t have table scraps. When I was 3 years old he would snuggle with me before I went to bed, but after I got a bunk bed then he would just sleep on the floor of my room. My sister didn’t really get to see him much because he was still a baby when he had to be put down.…

It all began when a was a little boy and all I wanted was a dog, for years I begged and begged, and still no dog. I felt as if I was incomplete without one, I had even written persuasive essays in school on why I should get a dog and waited and just hoped for it. Finally, when I was in 5th grade, I found a church ministry where we met once month and came up with ideas to raise money for the local rescue. During the meetings, we would also go for a walk, those who had animals would walk them. One time, somebody from the rescue came with one of the rescue dogs for the walk, which inspired me to go to the rescue and check it out.…

I was almost labeled a hamster killer. The first pets i got were dwarf hamsters. I went to petsmart with my mom and picked out two hamsters that were supposedly both girls, but one ended up being a boy. One's name was Caesar and the other Felipe. They weren’t always the nicest, but that didn’t make me love them any less. There was this one time that both of my dwarf hamster's got out while i was at school. My mom told me when i got home that she closed the door to my bedroom because they had escaped. I searched everywhere in my room for them. One hamster was under my bed and the other under my sister's bed since we shared a room at the time. Hamsters always find a way to get into the hardest places to find them in. I caught the one under my sisters bed and he was fine. When i went to get the other one out something funny, but sad happened. I have bins with wheels on them that i would roll under my bed and store stuff in. I had to roll the one under my bed out to see where the hamster was because i couldn't find her. So, as im doing this my mom came in the room to see if i had caught them. I was rolling the bin out as i saw something flat squashed on the floor…

I started looking for a free dog, a dog no one wanted. The first place I looked was the online bulletin board that my place of employment had and there he was, a 5-year-old “energetic” yellow labrador. Labs are good dogs, right? One of the best days of my life, was when I was seven years old and I walk through the front door and notice a small brown little puppy with big droopy ears sound asleep in a little basket. I grew ecstatic each second that went by,but was also very nervous since this was the first time ever owning a dog. I still remember till this day how my brothers and I would argue, on what we were going to name our little pup. Our little beagle was light brown all over, except all four of his paws were white. My brothers and I, finally came to an agreement on a name, which was Rocko. My Dad was the one who brought the little ball of energy home. But my mother, was very hestitant since my brothers and I were still very young. She knew that owning a dog was going to be a very big responsibility.…
