Personal Narrative Analysis
It was a different kind of road trip. Somehow I knew not to ask, "Are we there yet?" I don't think any of us knew where we would eventually end up that evening. My parents were doing their best to act like this was some type of family vacation. But mom was quiet (she never is), and the car was packed with odd items one would never take on a vacation.

Most of what had been packed in the car were diapers and baby formula. My little sister had just been born weeks before this obscure "vacation." The circumstance that prompted this trip was the mandatory evacuation that preceded Hurricane Andrew. However, this new source of life into our family was "amazing grace." She kept us on a routine. Feedings, changing diapers, and just

We usually take trips during breaks from school, like spring break or winter break, or during the summer, but we rarely take big trips on the weekends. We left friday afternoon, right after school ended. The car ride was about 3 hours. That may not seem like a long time, but with a baby in the car, it seemed to take forever. Babies cry a lot. When we finally got to the little house that we had rented for the weekend, everyone was tired and went to sleep quickly.…

When it became closer to leaving, we discovered that our grandparents were riding in the same car as us. While we were all getting in the car, my family made me sit in the middle of both my grandma and my grandpa. They squashed me like a bug right between them. It’s a good thing they had to go to the restroom about five times in an hour so I could get out…

It was an amazing drive! I was surprised that California was so beautiful. Towering redwood trees lined much of the drive, along with farms for almost any fruit or vegetable I could imagine. When we could finally see the coastline, it was breathtaking. We passed through a few small coastal towns and saw countless fresh produce stands on the side of the highway. We stopped for lunch at a Thai restaurant in Moss Landing, CA. The food was amazing, and we could see the ocean from our table! The day was already a success in my book. When we arrived in Monterey, we drove down to Cannery Row and parked the car. We strolled around all of the different shops for a couple of hours, and then we headed even farther down the coast. We stopped at a parking area that overlooked quite possibly the most scenic place I had ever seen. There were huge waves crashing on giant boulders in the ocean. We just sat there and watched the waves crash for at least an hour. The salty smell…

We left at 2am. We were all tired and ready to get into the car. Henry was already in the car sleeping before we had finished packing the car. I had my bag, pillow, blanket, phone, and headphones. What did the stuff look or feel like That was all I needed. I got into the middle row which had one seat up while Henry and Caroline were in the back row together. I liked not having to share my space with anyone except our dog, Baloo. Baloo was not a very energetic dog so he was never a bother to me give more detail about what baloo looked like. My siblings and I were waiting in the car while our parents were turning off all of the lights in the house and making sure the animals were where they needed to be.what animals needed to be where? I was sat squished in the back of one of the minivans with Sam, our treats and various forms of entertainment for the long ride sat between us. The drive was long and boring. We slept, played every car ride game possible and watched movies. The 806.2 miles seemed to take everlasting. We stopped for two nights at a hotel and took a day to go to an amusement park. My love for amusement parks was stronger than my urge to return home and after spending the day on roller coaster rides and eating cotton candy, I decided for a brief moment that maybe this trip wouldn't be so bad after…

My family vacation was anything but normal and relaxing but it was the most memorable. The next morning, we woke up bright and early to try to get as much daytime driving in as possible. My siblings and I immediately started fighting on who got to sit where, but everyone finally became satisfied with his or her final spot, put their headphones in their ears, and my mom prepared myself for the long drive ahead. Similarly to other road trips we have taken, we tried to make as few stops as possible, but with so many people, there seemed to always be someone who needed to go to the bathroom or complained of being hungry. Our favorite place to stop for food was…

Then, my grandmother told us we would not be going to Disney World until tomorrow. They were tired from all of that driving but I was not tired at all.
