Personal Narrative About Halloween
It’s finally Halloween! Me and my sister have been waiting so long for Halloween to arrive. We love Halloween because we get to dress up in costumes and get candy. This halloween, we plan to dress up as Sans and Papyrus from Undertale, she is being Sans, and I'm being Papyrus. I bet my dad’s dog is barking at the door because kids and teens are screaming TRICK OR TREAT. Their costumes were basically screaming “Scary!” “Weird!” “Creepy!”, and “Mysterious!” My mom is going to take me and my sister trick or treating. I don’t know where yet, but she said that it would be fun. My aunt is watching the candy so people would not steal it. Now let’s get into the car. Crap I forgot my keys. Well that is dumb isn’t it. “Hey mom you didn’t tell

Modern Halloween has become less literal about ghosts and ghouls and more about costumes and candy. The holiday is overflowing with action on its reserved night. Kids are so anxious to drag their parents out the door, show off their creative costumes, and ring their first doorbell for a fun-filled night of trick-or-treating as soon as the dismissal bell for school rings. High school students wait until the whole group of friends is together before they head out into the misty darkness with only the flickering street light to guide them. Meanwhile, adults are sipping on their witches brew at a local party or nightclub.…

My spook tacular Halloween consists of three things, which are getting dressed up in my extravagant costume, eating superb candy, and watching “ Charlie Brown and the Pumpkin Patch” with my family. This may sound really fun right, well before I can enjoy my fun Halloween evening, I have a lot to accomplish before I am allowed to enjoy my evening. Normally the first thing I do in the morning is I bring the decorations up from the basement and hang them up. The next thing I have to do is absolutely horrific, that small task leads to a long amount of time spent on actually making this gigantic orange item, and that item is carving a pumpkin. The third and final task I must complete is picking out different assortments of candy with my mom. After…

As I drive up to the Stone Center, I notice there were people and children already here. When I walk inside the Stone Center, there were Halloween decorates all over the place. The tables were cover with a black cloth, orange Halloween bucket filled with crayon for the children, and Halloween coloring books on the tables. Don't get me start on the food. The smell of the delicious food reminds me of my mother homecooked meal and the cupcakes look beautiful with orange frosting and colorful, Halloween sprinkler on top of it. As people started coming in, I got to worry that we didn't have enough chairs as so many people there was.…

As a child I was psyched up, I couldn’t wait to look at all the pumpkins and carve it as a dinosaur. I literally was obsessed with dinosaurs until the age of nine. We parked our 1997 Corolla and started to walk to all the bright orange pumpkins. Something was strange from the looks of this place. All the pumpkins had white little tags on them but they weren’t dollar signs like you would expect. They all had words on them, I was only six at the time so I couldn’t read that much. A few words I read out loud from one of the white little tags but struggled to read the whole sentence. My mom was confused too, why would all the pumpkins have stupid little quotes on them she murmured. We soon found out shortly that this was at our advantage and not a disappointment. A tall black man with dreads came out of the trailer by the pumpkin patch and walked up to us. He asked “What can I help you with folks?” My mother asked him about the pumpkins and the quotes on them. He laughed, since it’s three days before Halloween were having a little contest. I looked up at him and…

This is a holiday that she enjoys, together our family come to hang the scary black cats made of black construction paper, black bats, artificial spider webs and jack-0-lanterns pinned to her walls. Cut out white paper eerie ghosts and goblins fill the air. I can almost hear them shriek, “Boo, Boo.” The smell of warm caramel apples filled the room.…

Even though I wasn’t your typical toddler, how could I have been so stupid? I may have been an utterly curious rug rat, maybe even more. However, once an idea popped up in my pint size brain it stayed there….Until I tried it. Most things weren't terrible. They were just average ideas that most toddlers think of. Just like they say in the commercials, “Kids discover the world with their mouths.” Another example of this is like biting the table because its looks like a humongous cookie. In most cases this was true. In my case, it was a little more extreme.…

The thought of all the warm Christmas cookies you and your mom would make, or the pine sweet smell of your just brought home tree, you, already prepared with your basket of ornaments, dusty from being in your basement all year long. An intense feeling that you wish you will never experience again. I have always considered myself as a brave and courageous individual. I had to get out of there with my family as soon as possible. I knew they would find their way inside the home in a matter of minutes; so I quickly grabbed some weapons, knifes, bats, and anything sharp or hard I could find I my surrounding.…

I hide, but not in the shadows, I hide behind a mask. This is me about to divulge my story, so please read on reader. I believe that finding true freedom a person’s mask will fall off. I always told myself as a kid to keep the mask on or else I might get hurt. I do not really know where this type of thinking came from. The mask only came off when I was in the safety of my own room. For years, I stay behind my fake face waiting and watching the world in silence until the day I could take the mask off in public. I realize that taking off my mask was a risk, but it is worth seeing the world and not feeling the need to hide. That day finally came, when the sun is shinning on my back, the wind whipping through my hair and the mask fell off my face.…
