Personal Narrative: A Hero's Life

Santiago’s goal was to catch a Marlin. My goal is to graduate from college and begin my career in law enforcement as a police officer. When he would dream it would always be a dream of lions the lions represented him or himself as a boy, young and strong. However, the lions also remind him of his own boy, who helps him, fish and talk’s baseball with him. Santiago would be alone at sea most times but would always say he believes a man is never alone at sea. Santiago must deal with loneliness, but I must learn to deal with many types of people with many issues.

The old man is a person who will not give up easily. Even though he was old and tired he never gave up on catching the Marlin. He is humble, yet exhibits a justified pride in his abilities. Throughout his life, Santiago has been presented with contests
I am the type of person to give up quickly when I others doubt me. My ability to deal with different types of people is necessary for law enforcement. I try to give encouragement and cheer up my peers when they do not feel too proud where they are in life. My goal is always to better myself from the past and not hold my mistakes I have made against me. When I am facing a difficult task, I find writing helpful because I feel like it makes me a stronger person. A difference Santiago and I have is he does not give up easily in his challenges, I, however, do give up on my challenges quick. Another difference we have is Santiago is an adult and has been tested in his strength and endurance when I am still young and have not been faced with many tasks as he has. The last difference Santiago and I have is his knowledge is the sea when my knowledge is writing. My similarity with Santiago is we both think humble and positive on our circumstances. We as well share the similarity in facing a shark (challenge) to try to meet and succeed in getting our Marlin
