To be hones I was dreaming for this time, to sleep and wake up anytime I want. Yesterday, I fall asleep on the sofa while my little niece playing with mother and there was a considerable amount of noise which usually I can’t bear it. No matter how much my little niece was play her cute cards to wake me up with kisses, I couldn’t opened my eyes. There is a fatigue in my body even though I didn’t do anything physically to force me but it seems the stress of the semester and also helping my bestie to move out should be the source of fatigue. It was 2009 and I had been in sixth grade for a couple of months. I was on the phone with one of my friends from school when my mom called through my door for me to come out into the living room. I ignored her and kept talking for a few minutes when she called me out again. I rolled my eyes and told my friend I would call her right back. I walked into the living room and it seemed odd to me that both my sisters and dad were all out there too. I watched my mom take a deep breath with my dad by her side. As she began to speak her voice shook and gloss covered her eyes. “The doctors found a lump in my last mammogram.” she said. “It came back as cancer. I’m going to have to get treatment but I’m going to be okay.” No one else said a word, we all…

I returned back from vacation this week and it was nice to see all the children’s smiling faces. The parent’s express how they missed me as well as their children. This makes me love my job even more. This week there was a two year old child who had a seizure at the center; this was scary for the children, staff, as well I. 911 had to be called out to the center. We all have had CPR and first aid training so we were comfortable with handling the case until the ambulance reached us. However, we were not so prepared when the child stopped breathing. This was a learning experience, but I do not want to do it again. I want all my children safe and happy. I had to ride with the child to the hospital till her mother was reached and notified what…

After retaking the LASSI I have noticed a considerable amount of improvement as well as regression. In the beginning of the year, I vowed to myself that I would become a better student. I wanted to maximize all of my abilities in order to be successful. So, after I took my first LASSI and had my talk with Mac, I began to implement new strategies meant to help me accomplish my goal. First I had to deal with my anxiety. In past years I suffered with a lot of anxiety while learning math. I used to love math very much, however, this changed after my 6th grade year. Math became a foreign subject to me. I could no longer make connections and solve problems. As a result, my grades in math began to drop. As a person who is used to getting A’s and B’s on assignments, I had a difficult time in coping with my failure since it didn’t live up to my standards in the subject of math. My difficulty with math eventually caused me to have anxiety. I had carried this anxiety until my sophomore year in high school. It seemed as if no matter how hard I tried to concentrate on math tests my mind would always become blank. Luckily I had an…

I sat at the resort’s buffet with my mom, grandparents, and my brother, while we were relaxed and we enjoyed ourselves. I could smell the salt from the seawater of Gulf of Mexico, it was a rather odd smell, it smelt bitter, fresh, and clean all at the same time. The smell was somewhat pleasurable, and was very distinct. Every morning, in the resort, I woke up to the smell of it, which was something I definitely get used to.…

The feel of 80 degree temperature, the sound of splashing water, and a super long car ride? Everything but the car ride was awesome! On my spring break this year we took a very long and boring car trip down to Arizona. It was a 18+ hour car trip just going there! I mostly slept and read the way there. First, we visited Arizona state and Arizona University. Then, we stayed at my Grandma and Grandpa’s house. But, what I mostly liked about my spring break was in Arizona there was 80-90 degree temperatures!…

Take me back to the summer of 2015. You might just see normal ol' me, but I see a me that was genuinely happy. A mutal breakup over distance and arguments completely destroyed me and made me lose myself. At the time of the breakup I was living in a different town and I had no family nor friends around to comfort me. Being away from home and not having anyone by my side meant I spent a lot of time by myself. If you know me then you know that I'm not a social person and that I'm very shy. Shortly after I stopped eating, even if I did eat I'd get sick, I refused to leave my room, and I would go days without sleeping. After a couple days I was tired of the broken person I was becoming an decided to make a change. I didn't want that one person win…

Like it was yesterday I remember my first vacation on a cruise. My Dad and I went on a three- day long cruise to The Bahamas. I had never been on a cruise, so it was a new experience for me. We needed to be in Tampa for our departure, so we drove the two hours from Orlando, Florida to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. My Dad and I used this time to talk, make plans for the trip and think about our upcoming adventures on the cruise.…
