Well, that is not what they actually said word for word, but somewhere in my memory, that is good enough for me to think about what writing, and being creative mean to me.
It was my sophomore year of high school, I heard this every time I pull my agenda out and pick up my backpack, “they are the same people that go every time.” But before going into all the details about it, I think I should introduce you to my mojo in creative writing class, too. I think my creative writing teacher remembers me due to my opening line every time I came up to her- “Ms. Miller, may I go to the library?” I ask her too frequently that every time I came up to her, she knew exactly what I’ll ask before I can finish my sentences. I always keep a notebook or a journal with me, because for a daydreamer, who know what might hit you unexpectedly. Therefore, paper and pencil/ pen is my magic wand. I think my mom is right when she said I have an old woman’s mind, because let face it, it is 21th century, everything is about technology and computers while I’m still loyal to my paper and pencils. Not that I’m against the use of technology, it is just me since I found drafting on paper first, help my mind relax and my ideas come out more easily before revising it.
And when speaking of revising, I like to have it type and print it out after my first draft to help my eye pick out the stuff that was not standing out while writing. For some people believe that revising while they’re writing is such a pain. It is like there is the pro and con angel flooding on both your shoulder, I agree with that. But personally, I sometimes prefer doing it while writing because it helps me organize my pieces and prevent it from repeating itself. Who would have wanted to read a piece of essay that keeps repeating the same topic or idea
