Personal Narrative: A Career In Choosing Hair
After all the research I did, I have decided maybe not to do this job when I’m older because I personally just don’t feel like it's the right thing for me, even though a lot of people tell me that I’m good at styling hair, I just don’t feel like it's right.
The reasons I don’t find this interesting anymore is because the money is too little, I don’t want a job too fancy, and I feel like it's too much. My final answer is I don’t want to do this job, but maybe in the future.

While all of the different skills that was discussed earlier would help me in my dream career, however there is a unique skill that will benefit more than the other is revision. Being a photographer the power of revision may be one of the most important skill. The photographer will need to constantly review their piece of work and try to improve on what that was wrong, if they do not revise on what was wrong then they will not understand the meaning of success. Photographer will need to know why they are doing the same mistakes over and over again so they can avoid it, especially when turning the final product. With the revision the photographer will be able to continue to learn what is needed to be done to get the best result that they want,…

“Don’t move. I promise it’ll be over soon just please do not move a single muscle”. I say this to myself under my breath while the henna tattoo artist decorates the final flower on the sole of my left hand. Halfway through, she stops, lays her tools down and walks towards the bathroom. After an hour of struggling to keep my hand elevated, it felt as though I was in a constant battle against gravity. Although ill-advised, I slightly let gravity triumph and allowed my hand to sink closer to the floor, never letting it come into direct contact with the ground. The pain inflicted on it was severe and agonizing. In my brief moment of relief, I could not help but admire the design that blessed my hand. The geometrical shapes of diamonds and triangles…

I knew from a young age that I was different. I may have been popular and had beautiful eyes and curly blue hair, yes blue hair, it’s a long story. Anyway I just never really enjoyed doing everything everyone else loved doing. Most girls where at home watching Titanic and were crying at the fact they can’t have Leonardo DiCaprio whilst I’m at home laughing my butt off watching Psycho.…

Not so long ago a very memorable thing happened. A man by the name of Noah Tracy wrecked his car. What made this wreck stand out amidst thousands of other wrecks? Only one thing, Noah Tracy is my best friend. I did not find out about the wreck till long after, as I was in karate at the time and Mom didn’t want to get me. She did in the end have to get me out of class, as visiting hours were almost over. What made this unlikely is at the time I thought that he was a good driver.…

Depending on a person's mindset, I'd say there are many things someone could find unique about me. I could talk about how my foot is freakishly small, or about how my eyes change color according to my mood and level of tiredness. I could talk about how my hair curls in three different ways making it's own unique curl pattern, but I'm not. I, personally, think the most unique thing about me is the fact that I can draw just about anything in pen, better than most 12th graders without ever having a art class. Many people seem to think they're good at the things they love to do, but not everyone is correct majority of the time. Within the last three years, I've been invited to join a prestigious art group, accepted into one of the top art schools…

Ever since I was a baby my mum always either braided my hair or put it in a ponytail. At the age of 7 my parents started me in swimming classes. I always wore a swim cap but the water still got under my cap. If my hair wasn't braided my mum would have to shampoo and deep condition my hair when we got home. In 6th grade my mum relaxed my hair and soon regretted it. Since I am very athletic my hair was even harder to upkeep than before, so I decided to stop relaxing it and grow my hair out, causing it to break off. In 7th grade I was able to take part in school sports. I participated in track and field, wrestling, and soccer, whilst still swimming in the summer. Sweat, dirt, rain, heat, humidity and the list goes on. I was constantly worried…

Something that I am the most proud of is when I made my fist cosplay. All my friends from high school are into cosplay; some of them even won awards for it! I had thought I was too unskilled to join in, and procrastinated dabbling in the art. However, this Halloween I finally decided to try it out by dressing up as Professor Layton (from the Professor Layton video game series). The most important aspect of the Professor was his signature top hat, which I had to figure out how to replicate. I consulted some online sources, some of which cited places where one could buy similar hats, but in the end, I decided to make the hat myself. I found a few tutorials on how to do it, but I ran into a problem: both tutorials required sewing, and I didn’t…

People always joke with me about my hair. Jokes about how I could tie blades at the end of my hair and whip it around like some kind of ninja warrior. It’s completely understandable to view two long braids as secret weapons of a trained assassin. I could probably use it as a weapon, if I wanted to. It was definitely long enough. Braided, my hair was a bit past my waist.…

When I was younger, my mother got me a polaroid camera for my birthday. That summer, I took it with me everywhere - from exploring the nooks and crannies of my old childhood house to simply taking pictures of others - I knew I had found a passion. I shied away, however, each time someone took a picture of me; I covered my face with my hands and looked the other direction. People like me weren't meant to be taken pictures of. It wasn't self-loathing, it wasn't so extreme - but I had grown an aversion to showing my face, I wasn't as pretty as my friends. I felt overshadowed, so I stuck to the background, my face hidden behind a camera. It was this initial aversion to my face and body that had gotten me so engrossed into photography, and it was the effort that I poured into it that drew the attention of many when I finally published a portfolio.…
