Personal Narrative: A Career As An Advocate

My personality was the “Advocate” (INFJ) personality. This personality type is the rarest, only making up less than one percent of the population. An Advocate has an inborn sense of idealism and morality, but not an ideal dreamer. Advocates are capable of taking necessary steps to realize their goals and making a long-lasting positive impact on the world. Advocates recognize helping others as their primary purpose in life. They are often found engaging rescue efforts and performing work for charity, although their main goal is to eliminate the issue completely. On the positive side, Advocates are insightful, they can see through dishonesty and deception. They are also inspiring/convincing. INFJs have a fluid and inspirational writing style
I could be a psychiatrist. An Advocate must be good at working through a person’s troubled feelings. Also always wanting to help people, it would be very easy to gain the satisfaction of positively impacting someone’s life. I could also be an environmental scientist. INFJs like to help preserve the world around us. Advocates enjoy the intellectual aspect of the challenging ways to study and learn more about certain topics. Science would seem like a good career path for me. The occupation of a writer may be in the future for me. The INFJ personality type yields a strong and persuasive writer. I have always felt that words were a strong point for me. Creativity is a trait of an Advocate. Coming up with unique and believable stories may lead to a bright future. A writer’s career path might be in store for me in the future as an INFJ. A military officer, however, may not be a wise career path. Advocates try to help people, not fight them. Being as timid and introverted as I am, a military officer would not work out. Neither would being a farmer. Too much waiting. It would also be very repetitive and boring. I need to know that I am making a lasting, positive impact on the people I am trying to
