Personal Philosophy of Success

Upon ending my spring semester, I knew that I was a havoc wreck when it came to school and my grades. I had failed myself tremendously and had not exceeded the expectations that I had set out for myself to achieve that semester. Not only that, being that I was on financial aid probation I did not meet their requirements and what was expected of me. I was angry with myself, frustrated, questioned myself saying,” Is this what I should be doing,” is school even for me. I placated and I also blamed others for my downfall. In simpler terms I made excuses. However, through it all I was granted another chance to prove to myself and to the university that this is where I wanted to be and that by any means necessary I would do what I had to do. So as I planned my schedule for this fall I knew that I needed a course that would help me take responsibilities for my actions, motivate me, and to inspire me to never give up so I registered for Strategic Learning ( LS 250). Through taking this course I have gain much knowledge and have learned different strategies to become successful , I’ve learned that my philosophy of success is to live my life based on what success means to me, stop living in fear and regrets, take responsibilities for my actions and stay motivated at all times. Success is what every person dreams of. In my opinion it is being able to wake up in the morning, take a look in the mirror, and be happy with who you are and what you have accomplished thus far. It is being sheltered, having food, and other necessities that is needed to live. I believe people who are successful have learned to appreciate the good and the bad things in their life. Not only that, they appreciate where they have come from, because it has help to positioned them were they are now. Success does not mean being extremely wealthy, living in a big mansion, or having the designer and finer things of life but it is

I want to be successful. All people have a shared goal of becoming, “successful,” but everyone in the world has their own ideas of what success is. To some success may be defined as a social status and financial abundance, but to others success is defined as happiness. The Merrium-Webster dictionary defines success as a favorable desired outcome. I think the correct definition of success is being healthy, having a career that is fulfilling to myself, having the ability to have financial freedom, having a happy home and family, having a healthy relationship with a significant other, and being someone who you are genuinely proud of being.…

The literal definition of “success” is the attainment of love, wealth, position, home ownership, and honor. A person must strive to acquire his or her dreams to say that they were able to acquire success. For instance, in the play Death of a Salesman Willy was implanted on the theory that the basis of consummation in life is to be loved. Although this wasn’t morally correct, it wasn’t realistically incorrect. This philosophy was brought upon by his childhood; the insecurities that were built into him that caused him to lie and deceive himself as well as others; that made him vulnerable as a salesman; and eventually led to him ending everything.…

There are many ways that people define success and many people define it differently. There are three aspects of my life in which I would personally define my life as a success. The first aspect is education. If I can get through college and with great grades and the education I need for the job I want, then I will have defined my education as a success. The reason I will define this as a success is because of the fact that not everybody gets a chance at a college education and if I can still get that chance then I can define my life as successful. The second reason I will define this as a success is if the college education I want gets me a job I want then I can live a happy life. The second aspect in which I would define…

Having a successful life does not necessarily mean being rich and famous, but rather being content with the decisions that have made in your life. Prominent people, for example, have a lot of money, big houses, and tons of expensive cars but may not be successful in their life. A real example is Phil, he wasted all his life in accumulating money, and at the end what did he acquire…-his death. To call our selves successful first, we need to have good friends, someone we can trust and often, we need a friend with whom we can speak with no fear of being judged about our life. It is hard to find someone with this attributes but is not impossible. Friends are like marvels, there are a lot of them, but we should find the best ones. Friends are what makes our life different and are always there for us when we need them. Secondly having a happy and understandable family is another key of being successful. Families are said to be "the root of every living soul." In other words, families are what brought us into being, what gave us life, what shaped our values and beliefs, and what ultimately launched us towards our own…

The other definition of success that sticks out is that success means being able to live comfortably and without any worries. A very close family friend has said this many times “Being a successful dentist has its perks, I don’t have to worry about anything besides my practice and it is a very comfortable lifestyle.” This gave me a new perspective on what the definition of success was at a young age. He unwittingly taught me that success is making life as comfortable and as worry free as possible. To do this one would think they need copious amounts of money to do this but that is wrong. Many people try to live outside of their means to make them look like they are successful but doing this they are actually doing more harm to their…
