I took the senior gym class this year because physical education is by far the most fun department that the school has to offer. I took many difficult core classes this year, two of them AP classes. I thought gym would give me a nice class that didn’t give me any homework. Not only was it that but it also offered me an environment to be physically active and have fun. From the first fitness test of insanity to the second my results did improve. I think this was not only a result of being active in gym class but also because at the time of the second fitness test I was in peak midseason swimming shape. That greatly contributed to my fitness level during the second test. From the second to the final tests on insanity I had slight drops due to not being in shape from swim. The unit that I had the highest average heart rate during was the basketball unit. Basketball is a sport I really enjoy playing. During gym it was a unit I participated in and gave it a strong effort on a daily basis. It’s a sport that involves a lot of running as well. The unit I had the lowest average heart rate during was the badminton unit. There is not a lot of movement involved and it was not an activity I was very good at. I have noticed changes in my body. I feel like I am a little bit thinner. I also feel like for the first time in a while I don’t have such a fat neck. Since I will not be competitively swimming in college I can use heart rate checks when I go to the pool to work out while I am away at school. I will check to maintain my heart rate in the target zone to ensure I stay fit and in shape while away at school. In conclusion I am glad I took senior gym this year. I think by far it has been the best gym class through out high school. This year the sports were much more competitive and all around a lot more fun to participate in.

Joining Yearbook Club during my sophomore year was one of the best decisions I made throughout my entire high school career. I was hesitant at first since the club is also a year-long class which consisted of taking photographs, interviewing students and faculty, and most importantly, creating the yearbook. While participating in this club, I learned about the importance of deadlines. I gained interpersonal skills from interacting with other students and conducting interviews for the yearbook. Also, I connected with many classmates on a personal level and formed new friendships that I still hold dear to my heart.…

College students who visit their campus gyms are more likely to succeed in the classroom. According to data from Purdue University "Students who worked out at the gym at least once a week were more likely to earn a higher grade point average than students who visited less or not at all,". Students who are motivated with going to the gym and working out can often help students with time management skills and research shows that being fit is good for the mind. Having restrictions on students to use the gym isn’t a very good idea especially if you’re a university that…

Throughout the semester it had its good times and it’s bad. I learned a lot about myself and how to present myself to other people. The first couple days of going into my placement was hard, I never enjoyed it. I’ve always loved sports and being active but I hated the fact that I didn’t know anyone or what my teacher expected me to do. The first day was hard, I was prepared with proper gym clothes but I didn’t know what I was supposed to do, so I just participated with the Grade 10 girls and what they were doing. The next week I felt much better. I knew what I was doing after I spoke to Mrs. Mann and Mrs.Shillium and that was for me to motivate the students, never letting them give up, helping Mrs. Mann with her activities and basically just help around with whatever needs to be done. It got easier as the days went on, I got to meet some amazing girls that I’ve never spoke to while being at Williams and I built on friendships. Now whenever I walk the halls I wave and say a quick hello. They were the best group of girls I have ever worked with in a class or even outside of school, so that’s how it also made it easy for me to get used to being a leader in gym. I was…

Finding time for yourself while having a busy college schedule, may mean different things to different students, in the way that they use their time, but the end-result is the same: time without schoolwork! While some feel that using the gym is entertainment, others think that it is a dreaded necessity, the point is well taken; it is time to think, decompress, eliminate stress, alone or with a friend, as they are exercising together.…

When I first started going I went twice a week; Tuesdays at 7:30 – 8:30 and Thursdays 6:30 – 7:30. As I was only 6 at the time half 8 was extremely late for me which resulted in me being absolutely exhausted as a result of this I usually fell asleep in the car on the way home. I followed this routine until I was 13(Not the sleeping part of course)! As I got older I started to grow out of it, one thing led to another and I left the classes to mainly focus on the gym. This was because I was feeling self-conscious about my body, after going for about 8 months I could see vast improvements and I was finally happy with my body size so I left in order to have more money for the weekends, as every teenager does.…
