Personal Goals For College
As a child, just as many others, I had dreams of becoming something completely different than what my heart later desired as a young adult. During my childhood, I wanted to grow up to become a veterinarian. I had a passion for helping animals. My first job in the real world was a car-hop at a local Sonic Drive In. Within a few months of working at my current job I had quickly moved up the chain of command. I was thrilled about the new responsibilities and daily task. My interest on my long term goals began to change. I was intrigued by the knowledge I was learning on how to manage a crew, the responsibilities of a boss and the financial side of things. It wasn’t until many years later and a few other jobs that I actually decided to pursue a …show more content…
I did my research on a couple of universities to decide which school would best fit me. Bethel University’s online course fit with my work schedule and allowed me to gain a degree. I recently just graduated with a Bachelor’s in Organizational Leadership through Bethel University. Almost half-way through my completion of the Bachelor’s program, I had made my mind up on continuing my education further. One of my personal goals that I had set for myself would be to obtain the highest level of education for a business degree. Although there are many subsidiaries in the business world, I wanted to focus more on the management side of …show more content…
In the beginning my job was very basic with minimum task which made the day seem forever long. It didn’t take long for me to take interest in other areas of the workforce. I’m very organized and highly detailed in my notes which allowed me to help others in their projects. During these three years, I’ve learned so much about the company, the people I work with, and the customers we serve. I’ve made personal connections with my customer. I think personal connections can make things run smoother and also gives the customer a sense of security. A customer is not viewed upon as a cash value but as family. In my eyes we help each other grow and at the end of the day, it’s a win-win for both sides. I’ve been given the privilege to train others in daily task and help manage some of our co-workers. It’s extremely important to have a positive attitude and the knowledge to lead others. Since my three years with the company I’ve really taken interest in how things are managed and are currently growing. I want to be a part of the continual growth within our

These were, and still are, the ultimate objectives I have for myself and every action I take and have taken has been formed around this sentiment. My parents taught me that “dreams are the touchstones of our character” and that it is important to dream big while remaining clear on goals and realistic with decisions. Ever since I was in preschool I always wanted to be a teacher but, when I got to high school I had a change of heart. All my family and friends would tell me “You won’t get enough money to support yourself when you are older” or “You’ll only get minimum pay.” I realized yes they are semi right because while I was in high school teachers were always telling the students that they were cutting their paycheck and even letting teachers go. My perspective on things changed when I started hearing horrifying stories about animals being homeless, killed or being abused which made me really change my mind on my career. I decided that I wanted to be a veterinarian so I can change the lives of animals. Before I was even born my parents owned a dog and I grew up with it until he died when I was eight which shows that we have always had a dog in our home. My family and I are really big animal lovers; we have had dogs, rabbits, fishes, turtles and chicks. My family and I help by signing petitions to stop animal cruelty around the…
