Personal Goal Statement

Personal Goal Statement Some kids play sports in high school. Others are in the band, take roles in theater, or members of the debate team. Myself, I did not so any of those things, because, since middle school, my life has been fully devoted to practicing my passion for agriculture and preparing for an eventual career in the industry. I never had time for orchestra rehearsals or scrimmages, I was either out in the barn or in the pens in the field, or at plant ID practice, livestock judging workouts, or chapter meetings instead. These things even took the place of milestones such as prom and homecoming dances for me in middle/high school, but, it was completely fine to me, because, I knew my hard work would soon pay off as soon as
My passion for agriculture throughout my life has extended beyond the classroom, into my entire life and college career, where I am proud to be an agriculture major. College has also allowed me to branch off beyond youth activities, with work experiences and extracurricular activities relating to my interests in agricultural communications, education, horticulture, and animal science, and sitting on the "other side" with 4-H, FFA, etc. as a coach and mentor for today's members. After graduation, I desire to pursue a career as a professional at an agricultural organization using my leadership and communication skills, such as a fair, state agricultural association, or commodity based entity such as a Cattlemen’s association, to promote both the efforts of my employer and agriculture as a whole using my passion for the industry. Eventually, I wish to pursue a long-term career as an agricultural educator after working in agriculture for a period of time, where I will be able to pass on my passion for agriculture to my students each day and raise agricultural literacy in my
