Personal Experience: My Deaf Practice Simulation
I began practicing by going through my ABC’s over and over again, than I began the practice simulation. I eventually got up to fast and was able to do well so, I allowed the words to be any length. At deaf speed I struggled and had to replay a lot. At speed fast I mastered the words; marine, decide, okay, survey, upon, and dinner. I missed the words shirt, holder, outlet, handful, and molecular. Overall I did pretty well once I practiced for a little while.

    Thomas K. Holcomb’s book, Introduction to American Deaf Culture, shines a light on the deaf community and the culture they experience. The intended audience, however, is the hearing.
