Personal Experience In Social Work
My personal experience that motivated me to choose social work ad a profession was the competence and quality of services provided for me by social work in the hospital when I visited during the time I was hospitalized after being physically, verbally and mentally bused by my ex-husband. The social worker demonstrated a personal demeanor in providing services needed. The social worker was competent and has a respect of my race. She noticed that I just came to the United States of America. She didn’t discriminate against me knowing that I have a slight of accent. She was knowledgeable enough a d experience of what to do and how to provide me with available reason to the organization. I have been working as a certified Nursing Assistance for ten years taking care of the sick, mentally and cognitive individual with different mentally challenges both long term nursing home and veterans nursing home. I provide care by bathing and showering my clients, brushing their teeth, grooming and dressing them, ambulating the client, taking their vitals, emptying and replacing their colostomy bags and Foley bags. I also help the clients with actives such as range of motion and helped them with some exercises I provided them with support and empowered them with courage when they are intimidated by fear. I feel empathy when it's needed and encouraging and respect the client that I work with on a daily basis. Working in a profession way involves having a good communication with the client. There is no way a good service should be provided without a good communication between the clients. I have a good communication skills in a way I interact with my client in a unique manner. It is strongly believed that with these experiences that I have received over the past years will be a strong foundation in shaping my demand for social work practice. I made this statement because, I have enough and tangible reasons, because I have been with different demand of the individual. When it comes to my personal and professional values, but goes hand in hand. The similarity which portrait in these value will not bring or conflict attached.
