Personal Essay: Bullied In Middle School
Ever since I could remember drawing has been something that I could never get bored of, to me it wasn't just some other hobby that people liked, like football or fishing, it was a big part of life, a big part of who I am, and what I love to do. Drawing has helped me get through a lot of things, from me being bored in elementary, through being bullied in middle school, through moving to another country, and till today it's the one thing the can help me with sadness or stress. Back when I was attending Elementary school in Damascus Syria I didn't have any friends, mainly because I didn't fit in with the other kids. In elementary all the boys' interest was in playing video games or sports, and if you didn't like either of them there wasn't …show more content…
Also, the school was soo much smaller than my old elementary school and had three times as much students; so basically student were just crammed into that small space with no way to ignore each other, which was definitely not a good idea on behalf of the school. Middle school ended being worse than what I had thought it would be, not only was I alone but was also bullied for just being different from the other kids. From day one in middle school the bullying began, some random upper class girl that I had never met before just randomly decided to pull my hair to make her friends laugh ; which they did, and also when i got back home I was angered to see that i had note on my back that said and I quote “ I'm a jackass” written in arabic, and this was just the first day. As the school year went by it just kept getting worse, making my first day of middle school seem like it was good day. I never thought that i would have been able to get through that living hell, but thankfully I did and I would have never been able to get through it if it weren't for drawing. Drawing got me through that hell, because it helped me ignore all the negative things people said about me in the classroom. I would zone out for hours just drawing, distracted from the outside world. Although it definitely had a negative impact

Bullying is not an action we wish to see or experience. Girl-to-girl bullying is not wished upon as well, especially when you are apart of it. Since the beginning of my school education I seemed to become a magnet of bullies. In elementary school, I tried to be helpful towards others. I assisted with homework, cleaned up after activities, and I even did most of the work in group projects because the other kids groaned and complained about it. Unfortunately, due to my acts of being helpful I was called, "dog" by the girls who wore nicer clothes than I did. That nickname stuck around until 4th grade because of the fact I'd listen to anyone who'd ask for help. I was even called, "Heavy" as a supposed nickname for "Heaven" when it has been to call me fat. Around 5th grade,…

“Mom! Can you draw for me”, a common phrase that echoed from our small Brooklyn apartment, see when I saw my mom, I saw a hero, my protector, and one of my biggest influences. She would always entertain and illustrate my wildest imaginations, from Dinosaurs to dragons to James Bond, the mind of that Pre-Schooler seemed to never rest. But one day my mom did something new, she gave me the paper and pencil, and I would sketch, sketch and sketch until the days came to end. And by the time kindergarten came around I was already enthused with art, oozing a new love of painting, a love that still reigns supreme today. I find painting to be my favorite medium. Something I truly wish to master. From the time I was a young child to where I am now I see…

“Ouch!” “ooo” oh no!” these are all comments that can be made when your either getting bullied, or watching somebody get bullied. Either way, they are both something you should avoid. However, if there is something wrong, why do we stand around just watching people get hurt, when we can try and put a stop to it. Bullying amongst America’s youth has evolved into much more than just teasing one’s peers on the playground at school. With the technology today children can be bullied on the internet through social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram as well. This takes this problem to another level. How should the American citizens and lawmakers go about preventing bullying? State mandated programs to prevent bullying should be enacted in schools, daycares, and youth camps to teach children that bullying is wrong and there are consequences if they are caught bullying their peers. In April of this year 10 students were arrested after a video was found on YouTube of them pushing and teasing another child they were all 12 years and younger. Bullying can be defined as harassment, hazing, and threatening someone either verbally or in written form. If bullying continues it will cause chaos throughout America in the future because if children are allowed to display this behavior in their youth it will trickle into their adult lives.…
