Personal Development Plan During the course of taking the Human Relations in Admin class we took quite a bit of time to not only learn out the aspects of working with and leading people, but we also look at ourselves. What are my personal strengths and weakness? Where can I improve as both as a professional and a student? That look has truly lead me to think seriously about what I need to do to improve myself. This will be illustrated through looking at the analysis we did our throughout the class, and taking what was learned and applying to future goals.
We began this course by doing some interesting self-evaluations. The goal of these evaluations, from my understanding, is to learn a little more about ourselves and see what we can do to improve not only as students or professionals, but as people in general. At my age, I have settled into who I am as a person. I am hoping I can take some of these evaluations and improve myself, even if it just a small amount.
My personality type was classified as ESFP. In reading the description of this type, I found most of it to be very true of me. According to the 16 Personalities website, ESFPs tend like being the

Not only do we have to support and work with our customers, but there is also quite a bit of internal company work they expect us to do. Sometimes that can be overwhelming and certainly lead to burn out. When I took the burnt out assessment I found that I am potentially burnt out. I really did not need to take the assessment to know that. I have recently accepted a new position in my company, just because I am burnt out from the expectation of my current manager. The new position focuses much more on the customer support activity of my job. I look forward to see how my new position goes from this point

My Professional Development Plan at this moment is to obtain all the knowledge of life lessons and professional skills that I can obtain in this class and use it to better myself. So far there is nothing much that I have learned about myself that I’m already aware of. Hopefully as I progress through the next 6 weeks I may learn something new about myself. There have been interesting assessment’s that I have completed within the last two weeks. They are the following: Jungian Typology (Bauer & Erdogan, 2013) after completing that assessment the result stated that I’m an introvert which is true, but not 100% I’m reserve when I’m at work or out on events, but at home with friends and family I’m outgoing and verbal. Now this is something that I need to work on and be more extrovert and get out of being reserve.…

The results of my test results are as followed: extravert 19%, sensing 2%, feeling 22%, and judging 9%. I have a slight preference of extraversion over introversion, a slight preference of sensing over intuition, slight preference of feeling over thinking, and judging over perceiving. This makes my personality type ESFJ.…

In the Myers-Briggs Type indicator/Jung’s Typology Test results I scored ENFJ, which stands for extrovert, intuitive, feeler, and judger. These results seem extremely accurate to me. I do enjoy spending time with people, talking to them, and trying my best to understand them. People fascinate me yet I find it difficult to open up to the people around me, which is a common characteristic among ENFJ’s. Being intuitive, I tend to look at the big picture rather than detail. I rely on my gut rather than my conscious. As a feeler, the decisions I make tie in with the values I grew up learning, leading with my heart and naturally gravitate towards people. Lastly, as a judger, I am super organized! Having a preference towards planned and settled activities.…

I worked in the nursing home for 2 years then left to be an activity’s co-ordinator in a day care centre in Prestwick where I would plan daily activity’s and outings for clients who came for respite day-care the centre sadly closed down after 3 years. I found a part time job in a local pub but I didn’t enjoy it as much as caring I worked in the pub for 2 years until I found a job working for a homecare company I enjoyed but found the hours unsociable it was then I decided to apply for college. I applied for N.C social care and was placed on the reserved list due to the course being full then a week after the course started I got a phone call to start. I attended college from September to june working threw my course studying and passed all my exams. First I took the personaily test that stated that my personality type is ENTJ. For me to obtain an understanding of my personality type, it is important for me to develop an interpretation of the meaning of ENTJ. Briefly, the ‘E’ refers to Extroversion (vs. Introversion), which means that I am outgoing and tend to focus on the outer world of people and things. The ‘N’ refers to Intuitive (vs. Sensing), which means my interests lie in relationships, and I focus on the future with a view towards patterns and possibilities. The ‘T’ refers to Thinking (vs. Feelings), which means I tend to base decisions primarily on thinking things through instead of emotions. The ‘J’ refers to Judging (vs. Perceptive), which means I prefer to approach life in a more planned and organized manner and like to have things settled. On an overall perspective, as an EFTJ, I am a warm, empathetic, responsive, and responsible person. I am highly attuned to the emotions, needs, and motivations of others. I look to find potential and good in everyone, and I enjoy helping others to fulfill their potential. I can be a catalyst for individual and group growth, as I am loyal and responsive to praise and criticism. I am sociable, a good facilitator to others in a group and can provide inspiring leadership.…
