If the medication was not an antidepressant it might be different. If the patient is given the wrong strength of medicine then it might affect how he might act on the plane of given to him. Not only would he jeopardize his safety but the safety of the other passengers on the plane. If that happens then the office would be in jeopardy of a law suit or worse and it would fall on both Dr. Williams and Jerry also it would affect the pharmacist that would have prescribed the medication. I think that the more severe the medication might be then it will have a different requirement on how to prescribe the medication. Having high blood pressure is more of a life or death health disease so he would have been more obligated to find Dr. Williams in order to confirm this medication to a patient. The patient could live without having his antidepressant medication. He knew that he was running low and about to go out of town so he should have got a refill before the date of his flight. If the patient had a more severe health illness such as diabetes then Jerry would have to make a medical decision to preserve the life of a patient even though…

Iacobo since the pharmacist’s unprofessional conduct was a threat to the public safety. This case is more severe than simply self-administering a controlled substance because an accident was involved, which could have even caused death of others. Also, the pharmacist knowingly and willfully violated the laws and regulation of controlled substances. Therefore, this case would potentially result suspension of his pharmacy license for certain period of time. To mitigate the discipline, pharmacist will argue that his self-administration of controlled substances was not the reason for his car accident, and should not be considered in determining his discipline. He will argue that car accident can happen anytime, and unless it can be proven that his car accident was definitely caused by the drugs, he shouldn’t be punished based on it. He will argue that he should be only punished by his self-administration of controlled substance, and given probation of 5 years.…
