Perseverance In Governor Aylward

Gladys Aylward (1902-1970) was an incredible person, she started out as a boring run-of-the-mill maid but, after she was called to be a missionary in China she had an amazingly exciting life, which took bundles pluck and perseverance. It is quite obvious that one of Gladys’ God-given traits is her perseverance, she has too use it every step of the way in the book, here are four of the best examples in Gladys Aylward: The Adventure of a Lifetime. The First Chapter introduces Gladys and by the end of the chapter we can see she is perseverant; Gladys had been riding a train into a war zone and after a while the conductor had forced her off the train, her only option was to walk back to the railroad station she had come from, miles away in Chita.
Because of her determination and perseverance there Gladys was able to come out of the situation alive, giving her the opportunity she had wanted for what seemed to her forever. In chapter six Gladys must muster-up all the perseverance she has again; she finds out that Mrs. Lawson hasn’t been in Tientsin for an extinctive amount of time (Benge 69). She must then travel by train 100 miles to Peking, then take another train 250 miles southwest to Yutsu, and then after that Ms. Aylward would have to take a throng of busses to get to Tsechow!
