He starts going to a new school, where he develops ties with two people and after their friendship grows, he realizes and understands the true meaning of a close friendship. During Charlie's time in high school, he also developed a friendship with the teacher, Mr. Anderson. Mr. Anderson is the one who finds a true kind spirit with plenty of potential within Charlie. When Charlie creates a friendship with Patrick and Sam, their relationship develops and Charlie becomes comfortable with them. They teach Charlie all the good simple things and how depreciated to the fullest, he teaches him to become a kindred and free spirit. Charlie's friendship with Sam and Patrick is quite keen in the story. It shows the way true struggle to fit in and finally found a small group of friends that he can finally be relatable with. Through any situation, such as Patrick and Sam's personal struggles, he was there for them and they always return the favor (liverpoolecho.co.uk).
