Perkins + Will Mission Statement
Perkins + Will was founded in 1935 by Lawrence Perkins and Philip Will. From the start, they believed "design has the power to transform lives for the clients, the culture, and communities." With this belief they came up with five concepts: live, work, learn, play, heal. These concepts allow the design to respond to every aspect of life and create a place that people can multifunction in. Perkins + Will is also successful because of the amount emphasis they put on research. Within their company, they have a research department and they hire innovation incubators to investigate for their design. Mainly with their design concept and the research, they do it continues to bring old clients back, bring new clients in and has put Perkins + Will on the top 50 architecture firms list. …show more content…
After using the tool of the super-positioning matrix in class to determine what type of practice a firm is, it has shown that Perkins + Will is a Practice centered business which confirms our first thoughts of what stood out. Their mission and their values are to satisfy the client. Their goal is to produce successful work that will continue to bring in returning clients while also forming new client relationships. Perkins + Will also have a strong attitude towards staff. They offer a service of planning + strategies that focus on creating workplaces that bolster performance and improve staff satisfaction. This is important because a firm does not exist without its staff. Also, clients choose firms yes based on how successful their projects are, but they also look at the people in the firm as well. To have a successful firm it starts with the staff and Perkins +Will acknowledges that and works to create a work culture that boosts performance and keeps their staff satisfied and working
