Taking PEDs (Performance Enhancing Drugs) are a big temptation in an athlete's life. Taking PEDs is considered cheating for sports and could have severe consequences. But just like cheating in school, some people will think it is okay to do it and they don't care if they do it and get caught or not. Taking PEDs is also known as doping. Doping originated by a Nazi doctor to make them more aggressive in the battlefield( Jacobson ) . Usually, athletes are taking PEDs to help their performance for whatever sport they are playing in. Different types of PEDs are Anabolic steroids, Androstenedione, Human Growth Hormone, Erythropoietin, Diuretics, Creatine, and Stimulants. When people are on PEDs they are risking these kind of factors that could happen to them. Also, potentially endangering their lives and the lives of others. “Steroids, for instance, can reduce inflammation caused by allergies or certain sickness,” ( 6 Meaningful Pros and Cons of Performance Enhancing Drugs ). Steroids can have a positive effect to the human body. But, there are also many more negative effects such as cardiovascular diseases “...reduced athletic ability. Taking PEDs will only affect the athletes for a limited amount of time, but athletes can also lose the skills they once had. Also, that short burst of energy and aggressiveness can lead to depression. This proves that taking PEDs could have positive and negative effects to the body. Taking PEDs could be useful to some people concerning their health, but for others it could harm them. Also, taking kinds of PEDs can have different results to your health. Performance Enhancing drugs should not be legalized because this goes to shows that PEDs have more of a negative effect to an athlete's life than an athletes failing on his/her own. Also, the main reason doping to banned in every sport is because it is to keep the games as fair as possible without using any illegal substances. The heightened ability of these athletes could also endanger these other athletes, where sports like football and hockey involve so much physical contact. If doping was allowed then that means that it is most likely that every single record for sports would be broken be a large margin. How would you feel if you had a significant achievement that you thought nobody is could beat and all of a sudden somebody did the impossible but you find out they used some sort of
