INTRODUCTION OF COMPANY

1.1 INTRODUCTION ABOUT THE SWARAJ:-

* Swaraj is a multi unit, multi division group of companies with an excellent growth rate, engaged in the manufacturing of tractors, harvester combines, agricultural implements, forklift, light commercial vehicles and diesel engines. Swaraj has collaborations with world renowned organizations like Mazda motor Corporation, Komatsu forklift Co. Ltd. And Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd. Swaraj endeavor has to achieve excellence through quality improvement and human resource Development. * Punjab Tractors Ltd., a Public Limited Company was established on 27th June, 1970 and Swaraj Combine Division was established in 1980. * The Company’s first large scale project in India was based on totally indigenous design, knowhow and technology, was promoted by the Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation with the support of Govt. of India and Public Financial Institution. * Location: - The factory (SCD) is located at Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, an important Industrial Town in Punjab 5 km from Chandigarh. This factory was among the first to be set up in this Industrial town. The factory (SCD) is located at Chapperchiri 11 km from Chandigarh. The company is managed by a Board of Directors with the Secretary, Industrial Department, and Government of Punjab as its ex-office Chairman. The day to day (operations at SCD) are managed by General Manager (Works).
