La música es considerada como un lenguaje al ser el medio que los humanos utilizamos con más frecuencia para expresar nuestras emociones, ésta forma de expresión está presente en todas las culturas del mundo y por medio de ella podemos identificar si la melodía que escuchamos expresa Amor, Felicidad, Tristeza, etc., Como el lenguaje, la música ha evolucionado a través a través de la historia y los fines para los que se usa se han diversificado de la misma manera. Inicialmente con fines religiosos, tiempo después también fue utilizada como arte y en la actualidad pasó a ser además un producto de consumo y mercado masivo. Dentro de los amplios alcances de la música, surgió una nueva concepción de ésta como herramienta terapéutica que se aplicaría en distintos campos - la Medicina, la Psicología, la Pedagogía, entre otros - , dando vida a un método terapéutico denominado “Musicoterapia”. A través de la segunda mitad del siglo XX se hicieron importantes avances en el campo de la Neurobiología con respecto al procesamiento de la música, las diferencias y similitudes entre los canales neurales involucrados en el lenguaje y la música, el rol que juega cada hemisferio en reconocer éstos estímulos y los efectos de la exposición a ciertos tipos de música.

Los defensores y los opositores de éste método han puesto en consideración el uso de la música como medio que fortalece las habilidades cognitivas y gracias a este debate se discute sí es viable, efectivo y qué alcances tendría el uso de la Musicoterapia en un ambiente

    The Classical period of music was from 1750-1825. Mozart played a huge role as a great composer in this time. He took on new challenges and different possibilities for music in this era. Classicism of music did not mean that it was strictly traditional. A lot of composers, including Mozart experimented with different materials. He also used a lot of romantic elements in his music. The classical style is based off symmetry of four-bar phrases and usually moves by small steps and has a narrow range. There are four movements of the Classical-Romantic era. The first movement is long, dramatic and written in sonata-allegro form. The second movement is slow, lyrical and is in a modified sonata-allegro form. The third movement is dancelike, moderately slow and is variably a minuet and trio. The last movement, the fourth, is lively, spirited and is a spirited rondo form.…

    The purpose of this essay was to inform and explain to individuals all of the several ways for people to enjoy music as well as to explicate that the readers should strive for a more active type of listening. It showed the impact music can have on the lives of people. Aaron Copland said that even “One note is enough to change the atmosphere of the room” (599). This essay was written for just about everybody, with hearing of course, because most everyone listens to music. Even for the few that do not listen to music often, this could perhaps persuade them to listen to music . This was presented in a creative essay type format. The different types of music and conclusion of this essay are examples of evidence to support the purpose. Copland mentioned “We all listen to music on three separate planes… (1) the sensuous plane, (2) the expressive plane, (3) the sheerly musical plane” (599). Copland also says that the reader should strive for a more active kind of listening regardless of what type of music you listen to (603). However, the author also mentioned that many people who would normally consider themselves qualified music lovers abuse the first plane when listening. This author effectively uses these appeals very effectively with logic. This author used a more objective type of language in his essay. The evidence in this essay supports the claims through practices people experience while listening, writing, or performing music. The evidence covers the perspectives associated with the 3 planes, but nothing else. I felt this article was very well written. I enjoyed the essay, as I was engaged during it. Anyone who listens or performs music can very easily relate to this essay and become engaged into it. The organization of this essay also helps people to be absorbed by this essay. The language throughout this article is not too formal, but not terribly informal. It was the perfect median in which you could read through and easily relate to…
