I didn’t realize that there was a crack on the top of the Peq 15, that prevented it from staying on my weapon at the time. When I was turning in my weapon my Peg 15 fell off again, and the crack was displayed.

One would think that purchasing your first home would be a very fascinating experience; after all it is one of the most major purchases of your entire life. In America, home ownership ties in with the American Dream and the spirit of working hard to one day earn through hard work a home with a white picket fence. I quickly learned the process of purchasing your first home can be very frustrating and stressful. However, if you survive the home buying process the reward is priceless once you move into your “American Dream.”…

SNCs’ five paragraph order contained pertinent information, but was heavily punctuated with the use of filler words such as “uh” which hindered the flow of the order and made it difficult to understand. SNC’s Situation paragraph was briefed out of sequence. During movement to the objective SNC moved throughout the squad to ensure proper dispersion and physically moved subordinates who did not immediately correct dispersion. Upon receiving enemy contact, SNC issued clear orders and ADDRAC. SNC lost mission focus, to resupply a desperate squad, and instead allocated his entire squad to assault a lone enemy’s fighting position. During the assault, SNC lead from the front, directing his fire team leaders to alter direction of attack and maintain…

My APUSH class was perhaps my favorite class my junior year despite it having been so rigorous and time demanding. I really enjoyed the material and although it was a large amount of work that was required, I still never found myself not finishing everything. It is for that reason that I really value this notebook. I did not fail to miss a single day of doing homework in the class and really managed to fit a whole year's worth of vocabulary in one single notebook. I think that to me it really represents the time and work that I put into getting everything done as a mean of getting myself prepared for the AP exam. I would always just sit with my friends, trying to complete the homework, it gave most of us something in common to complain about…

It was a scorching hot October day in Palatine, Illinois. As my team and I warmed up for our cross country race we could feel the sun fry us. The Palatine Meet of Champions is always a competitive meet and this was the last time I would toe the line there. I was nervous. Thoughts started rushing through my head and I tried to stay calm. As the day went on, it was time to go to the line and start the race. Right before the gun went off;, I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I visualized success. The gun went off and I bolted for the bottleneck. As we came to the last mile, I was in great position. I started making my way to the front and I felt like I was flying. Although I did not win, I placed fifth against many nationally ranked runners. I felt like I was on top of the world. At that moment I knew I wanted to pursue the dream of running collegiately. Later that week, I received a call from Coach Chorny from Miami University telling me that he would like me to run as a RedHawk. I was hooked after my official visit and later that month, I signed my letter of intent. My journey was set to continue.…

The day has finally come; it’s the last day of cheer. After days of constant cheering, dancing and stunting, it was the day either for my dreams to be crushed or for them the come true. I couldn’t decide what to wear, what to expect, whether to wear a bow or not. My life is a hot mess at the moment. I am freaking out. I’m giving my self a pep talk trying to get my life together. Then all of a sudden I thought, “What am I talking about I am not confident in myself.” That is big problem because the whole point of being a cheerleader you need to confident and positive. “What did I get myself into?” “Why did I even tryout?” “None of the girls are going to accept me on the team.” Then I looked at the time. I had thirty minutes till I had to be there. I had nothing to wear, and I haven’t done my hair.…

From a very young age, I can remember sitting at the kitchen counter with my older sisters as my mother was telling us all of the things we needed to do to be upstanding and healthy young adults. As we grew up, she continued to preach to us because she didn’t want us to grow up to be misfits. Some adults believe teenagers eat too much junk food, live without principles and never think about the consequences of their actions. As a seventeen year old, I will admit that I’m the complete opposite of the typical teenager because I eat healthy, I am conscientious and I always obey the law.…
